Grow tent?

Tearing at seems and zippers is a stitching failure not a fabric failure.

If budget is a concern, a cheap tent will last with careful use. I've seen one reseller advertise on kijiji in Mississauga - their tents seem sufficient. Just make sure you have metal corner brackets not the plastic ones.

One tip: if you do lose a seem or zipper - restitch with 50lb braided fishing line and you'll never have the problem again.

Tip2: wax the zippers - they'll last a lot longer and mesh easier.
what do you wax the zipper with?

blocks of parafin wax are available for candle making etc...
they can be rubbed along the zipper as a lubricant..
even a candle...
there are spray waxes they use for ice-fishing portable huts..
to keep the zippers moving freely in the extreme cold.
more important is the gauge of the zipper... heavier the better for sure...
good luck in you tent search.

Key detail:
I'm on a limited budget.

Also I probably wont grow near 20 plants.
i would much rather grow a bunch of big plants that have been lst'd to hell.
I'm only using 300-450 watts anyways - (why I also want to grow the plants into dense bushes) trying to keep power consumption as low as possible.
Don't listen to all that top of the line, spend the most you can bullshit. Also, 6.5 feet is fine if you get a good air cooled reflector and you learn to control your plants. I have a "cheapie" tent I've been running since 2010 and I'm still using it. Also, I would recommend starting with a 4x4 to start and adding a second one later, when you get better and you can fill a 4x8 area. Which you'll probably need with a 20-25 limit. The advantage of 2 4x4's over a 4x8 is segregation and the ability to alternate harvests. You're going to need a second light anyway, one more fan and filter won't matter...or you can buy a larger fan now that can draw from both tents, that way you'll only need one more can filter. Also, don't fall for that expensive bulb bullshit either. Learn how to grow first. The right soils and nutrients, etc. Then you can graduate from there. Nothing saying you can't sell you're old equipment when your done with it and ready to upgrade.

Not everyone has the luxury of not using one. They also have their benefits.
Waste of money IMO, especially if you plan to use one for flowering. You can curtain off a small area in the room you plan to put the tent in. Have more headroom and hide any duct used to ventilate your grow space. Tents can become easy bake ovens real quick.

I've never had a problem. Curtains are not light proof should you want to run alternating light times or if you need to veg in the same area. Again, not everyone has the luxury of not using one.

Alright got the tent I linked to. Needed my gfs help setting it up it was quite difficult. But it's nice now.
Anyways last thing needed.
Ventilation and filtration. What's a cost efficient solution for the above? There's tons of exhaust ports in this tent.

This is what I have been considering http://www.growlights.ca/fans-filters-ventilation/fan-filter-complete-kits/6-inch-fan-filter-kit.html hard to find reviews but the one I found was good and the price is right.

I actually looked into fusion hut tents because they are available close to here and cheaply online (Canada grow lights seem to be their main or only distributor) but I could not find reviews on them anywhere. They are also available in 1680D which will be more tear resistant than the 600D ones but the frame is the same and does not seem super strong given they only rate the hanging rods at 60lbs.

Hippy is right about not cheaping out, my buddy has gone through 3 600D tents in just over a year because he keeps buying cheap and they keep tearing at the seams and zippers.
I have had 2 fusion huts for 3 years now. No problem ordered it right from the site you mention. I got a 4x8 and a 4x4 They are really great.

Do I really need to spend $200 to get adequate odor control? I mean if it takes $200 I'll get it but I'm on a tight budget and that's going to take me awhile to save up for.
