What does this look like to you? .. I found it on Google Earth

I discovered this when I was exploring on Google Earth .. I posted this on some other forums but no one can seem to tell me what it could possibly be other than lava, which was my initial guess on what it was.. The thing is I found it somewhere you wouldn't suspect lava to be .. It's just randomly in Area 51 with nothing else that looks like it anywhere around it. The color is a little odd too..I just thought I'd post it here just for the feck of it to see if I get any feedback on what it could be since no one else on any other site knows..I find it slightly interesting and it would be nice to have something to go on for research.

Before I read a single word I was thinking 'dry lake bed'

After reading I am going to guess rust deposits in a dry lake bed.

edit: the last one looks like it could be a crash site from OUTER SPACE, how cool would that be, but its not

You can also see in that the road goes between the substance as if it were a resource or something..

But yeah maybe it is a dry lake bed ... Didn't think of that.

I just browsed through some pics of dried up lake beds and they don't even look remotely like this reddish pink stuff.. It's really the color that's getting me. If it weren't for the color then I wouldn't think anything of it.

Well the entire Area 51 is in Groom Lake if I am not mistaken, so you would want to look more into what rust or mineral deposits look like Here is a picture I found with a quick google image search with similar colorations on the rocks. Here's his caption for the image:

We continued north on the park loop road toward Mammoth Hot Springs. We took a short walk on the boardwalks at this place, and some of the mineral deposits from the bubbling water made the rocks brilliantly white and red...

Groom Lake is a dry lake bed and if you are familiar with the Rachel, NV area, Red Rock Canyon near Las Vegas, etc., you will find plenty of red rock all along the areas. The reason for the coloring is a high iron content in the rock and soil that when exposed to oxygen causes it to "rust" in appearance. I've actually been up to Rachel, NV which is just outside of Area 51 and there is really nothing special about the area. . . although I have heard that if you try to sneak into Area 51 you will be shot. Supposedly this base is no longer operational as a secret base but you still see those secret non-marked white and red planes flying out of the Las Vegas area up toward Area 51 all the time.

Ehmmhmm 'fezzer' .. I do believe that's why there is a 'toke n talk' section.. For unrelated topics. If I wanted to taint the weed part of the forum with my dried up lake bed then I would have posted in a growing section.
