I mixed my GH Flora (GMB) using 1-2-3 formula. Aerated it for 24 hours and fed her this morning. Normally I wait til she shows a little droopiness before watering and afterwards she perks right up. This time she didn't. I waited a few hours and stlil she looks the same. Then it occurred to me...I totally forgot to do a PH test prior to watering her.
I just did a test of the solution and it's down to almost 5.0!! Now I'm getting nervous. How do I rectify this situation? Should I do a flush or what??

they will be fine. Plants can handel some ph fluctuations. just not huge ones all the time. Next time you water measure your ph it will be all good dont stress

I would suggest using a water buffer asap, I messed up sort of the same fashion before and I used a watter buffer for discus fish. within a hour I was back up to 5.8-6.0 . Dont know what you got for stores around you so I don't know if you could get it quick enough. you might need a alternative.

I'm a soil grower and I've never once tested my PH.

Sometimes I think people have difficulties because they are trying to make this too hard.
Well this is a soil grow. How is testing the PH of a nutrient solution making it hard? I now know that my solution will need to be adjusted up next time I mix.

I just meant that it is a plant that evolved for thousands of years without our help. Sometimes I think people try too hard and that makes for not as good of an outcome. It was not meant as an insult in anyway. Just sometimes people overthink things.

je's right but i admire how quickly you tried to help your plant when you realized something was wrong

I'm the last person to overthink things <G> but I hear what you're saying. But you have to admit sometimes us growers become over-protective 'parents'. :bigjoint:

I know we do. That's how so many people (including myself) end up with nute burn on our first plants. Over feeding the kids and trying to hard.

Sometimes it's better to relax a bit and not panic when something it just a little off.
