Hey all,

Haven't been able to find a thread on this so I decided to start one. I currently have 4 seeds that started germination on the 31st and sprouted on the 4th of this month. It has only been 6 days and the roots are already 2-3+ inches long, and that's poking out of the coco and clay pellets they're sitting in....anyway this is a relatively unexplored area so if anyone has experience in it, it would be great if you could help me along because i'm winging most of this just to see if it'll work for a full (veg-flower) grow. I'll post some pics later, but main point of this post was to hopefully get some tips or even pics of peoples fog grows.

Okay got some pics...here is from Nov 7th(remember they sprouted the 4th). NOTE there were no visible roots at this time. They are sitting in 2 inch net pots, the seeds were put into a netted coir tablet put inside of the pot and surounded with clay pellets. I will be modifying the set-up once these roots get bigger, but as of now we just have the atomizer directy under the plants with 4-5 inches of water.
Seed: bagseed
temp: 71 F
p.h: 6.8
light: (18-4) 300w Viparspectra LED

NOV 10th roots came in big, but leaves looked strange to me...just me? Also #4 is struggling making its first set of serrated leaves...today I saw the farmings of new leaf so we'll see, just a tad confusing. (NO nutes added at this point)

I'm not familiar with a fogponic grow, is your pH supposed to be that high or are you just not adjusting the pH because they're not using nutrients yet?

whats your water temp when the foggers been running for a little while? Every time I attempted I ended up with root rot because the ceramic disc heated up the water too much. Didnt have a chiller at the time. Anyway, would love to see updates

Trying to keep ph in the 5.5-6.5 range, was high at first because I had nothing to bring it down with plus I knew I wasn't adding nutes so there was nothing to be locked out from the roots at that point.

I've been waiting for my temp and humid gauge to come in the mail, but it has yet to make it to me so can't answer that. I did hear that being a common problem with this type of grow though so have been checking and so far so good. started a journal, here's the link =^)

I've also been looking at expanding into fogponics, glad to see great minds! :)

Is your fogger right in the reservoir for your plants or are you funneling fog into the chamber? If in the chamber, your water and root environment doesn't get too hot? I tried this once and when I woke up the water was over 100F. Thank god it was just pepper plants, but lesson learned.

Going forward, I don't believe it would be possible to have the fogger in the reservoir water as the water would get too hot. But I would love for someone who is using fogponics to prove me wrong. I'm still thinking about the ultimate setup, but I think it may involve funneling the fog from a separate chamber into the root chamber.

Just wondered what happened? Did you manage to get a grow happening with the fogponic method?

Currently on second run now using fogponics and shallow water re circulation approx. 1" depth in tubs from 100L res., incredible root growth and massive plants.

I ran into the problems listed above, so decided to make a separate box that fed the fog into the root chamber. This held up for a few weeks but the plants seemed to need more as they got bigger (only have a single disk fogger) so I put in a low pressure aeroponic system and that held them through. 3/4 plants die or ended up male, I had one plant hang on and I got a couple ounces of seed ridden nugs. I'd post pics of my system but I am moving so will once I move in to my new home. This is my second grow so learning as I go, do you have a grow journal of the last or current grow you have?

With little research in fogponics and fogger brands, I went out and bought "House of Hydros" basic single node fogger(always works right ;^)). Later learned a bit of science behind fogponics, and from what I think I understand, the droplets are made so small that nutrients apparently can't attach to these tiny micron particles? Never got that far to test that theory regardless, maybe someone here has. My next set up I plan to incorporate fog but don't plan on using it as the primary feed.

Looks like you are just the guy to find out if it picks up nutes. Mix some nutes and stick it in see whatcha get. I have a 12 burner one that I use to add humidity to my flower room. I do have a dream to try my hand at fog ponics, one day, one day

The nutes can attach, the problem is with the droplet size. The droplet size creates a dense fog which has very little water content. It behaves like a fluid and sinks so you have to overfog to fill a chamber with it. You`ll find plenty of vids showing containers literally overflowing with dense white fog. It looks great but its too much, all you need is a haze. You should be able to read a newspaper headline through 15" of fog with no trouble.

Given the option of HPA and AA for indoor growing, i`d choose AA everytime ;)
