Interesting thing happened once I stopped smoking weed?

I smoked my last joint on Monday around 3 p.m. And last night around 8 p.m. my friend asked why my face was red. Once I went to bed, I felt that my body would heat up periodically (I guess it's called hot flash). It basically felt like a fever warmth. My body heat just kept pulsating, and after I went to sleep I woke up later with quite a bit of sweat. After that I couldn't sleep for a few hours.

What I'm wondering is why does this happen because of weed, and why didn't it happen while I was smoking regularly?

They say the hot flashes and sweat is a result of better circulation, which caused an increase in temperature and my body needed to adapt. But how exactly does weed affect your circulation, what changes?

And why did I wake up in the middle of the night and was unable to fall back asleep?

more or less I would get high at nights
I did the same thing a few years back and it was terrible for me to sleep without it .....I don't wana say withdrawals cause that sounds kinda harsh but for me it was pretty rough sleeping without medicating for a few weeks ......I was very restless and just couldn't sleep for more than an hour or so at a time

I stayed off it for a month. Used to be my nightly go to for sleep. Otherwise I'd spend the next 4 hours staring at my eyelids. Worst fuckin month ever! Same deal. Felt hot. Was restless. And time seemed to drag on. But, my mind wouldn't slow down long enough for me to get ample sleep. That's kinda why I smoke it. That and now I've got a fucked knee to go with my fucked back.

Same thing happened to me last time i quit which was a very long time ago.

i get uncomfortable, random hot flashes that i mostly feel in my legs, takes me a good 60-90 minutes to actually fall asleep, i wake up randomly in the middle of the night & i started having crazy ass dreams/nightmares.

Shit the worst part is not able to unwind after a hard day of work, back then i was wearing ppe suits a few hours a day and would service high voltage dissconect panels all day... pulling them handles will make you squeeze your ass everytime lol, i would always take the anxiety with me home which sucks balls if your a sober rat lol. Im also a daily runner who pushes myself to the limit... Once again thats hard to do if i cant unwind when i get back home

Why not medicate at night op
One because I have never been able to manage my smoking and I don't believe I can ever do so. When I smoke I gotta smoke constantly or not have it at all. Two because this year was the first time I grew my own weed, and now that I have smoked it all I DO NOT want to pay $10+ for a gram of weed after I have been smoking over an eight a day with my own weed.

My plan is to lay off of it until my next outdoor grow (which I suppose won't be ready until next oct/nov), hopefully having enough weed to last me a year next time or just try to smoke only at night then.

But holding off getting high until night doesn't seem doable to me.

The thing that makes me uncomfortable is that I don't know what to do with time now. Before, if I needed a break/escape I'd smoke. Now that I'm not smoking weed, I don't smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol either, so I have to deal with being sober which doesn't feel nice all the time. I don't generally like to eat food, so I can't really count on that for comfort. Too lazy/cold to exercise but I do skateboard which will help.

But I don't know what to occupy myself with now. I might try reading a new book which I feel will be fun but that will take some effort.

I really don't know how to enjoy life sober compared to smoking weed! It's weird.

I could try watching sports. I haven't been able to watch movies for a long time because the fake, similar, "emotional" story lines make me kinda sad now.

New activities like learning something new I think I'd be too lazy for besides skateboarding.

Wow, it's got to be 20 years since last time I laid off smoking weed. I remember all the pitfalls you guys are bringing up, they sucked. I am a little surprised that I don't smoke it all day now that I grow it for a living. I usually don't have the desire in the day, preferring to get shit done instead. I'll usually start at night to unwind, but I then smoke it more or less continuously until bed. I remember awful insomnia, migraines, and horribly vivid dreams when I use to lay off. Yikes. If I was really compulsive about it, I'd guess I may try to lay off from time to time. But as of now I see no reason to. I feel it helps keep me sane and physically healthy. Seriously, I should have a bunch of health concerns considering my lifestyle and family history, but I don't. I feel smoking copious amounts of weed is a large factor in this...

Yeah that's a bummer I use to be the same way but now I just medicate when I absolutely have to and it just so happends it's mostly when I can't sleep ....if it gets to bad just make yourself some strong edibles .......maybe just taking smoking it out of the equation will help you to use at night when you actually need it .....tinctures are good to ....there's lots of ways to medicate for sleep without smoking

But good luck to you hope you get to feeling better and figure something out soon it's not good to not sleep bro .......GL

man, i feel like an oddball here.. i've never experienced any of the things you guys are mentioning when i've stopped smoking in the past..
Don't worry you don't want to experience it. I don't know why (maybe I've mastered quitting/withdrawals) things have seemed to go smoothly this time around.

The weird thing about quitting weed that I have noticed is that on one hand you feel much happier, sharper, brighter and energized (although I think this experience fades or you get used to it after about 2 weeks), and on the other hand you have the sweating, sleepless nights. Honestly this time around it feels that last night was all the withdrawals I will experience. But the problem is having nothing to turn to when I need a break (trigger moments).

But the good energetic feeling that comes right after quitting makes me sad I smoked in the first place cause I feel like I could have accomplished way more/been more socially active if I was sober.

And thanks for the skateboard advice, it's a great one ;)

Hot flashes? Feeling flushed?

It's an uncommon phenomenon, unrelated to cannabis.

MAN-o-pause.

One side effect is that you may get a MAN-gina. This could be incurable. Good luck.

Psychotherapy also helps .. well it helped me in a dark period of my life where I was forced to quit all drugs because of panic attacks. Eventually I was afraid of everything stimulating, even black tea... made my heart race which would turn to a full blown panic attack. Nasty stuff.

Anyhow I went to therapy (psychodynamic/psychoanalytical type - and I mention this because it matters - look up the various schools of psychotherapy and see what fits you best), and eventually overcame the anxiety attacks. However it took me 8 or so years to build up the courage to light that spliff again. Now I have also quit regular smoking and I pace myself at smoking weed mostly when I go out for a drink, I try to avoid the everyday wake & bake ..and watch movies routine. It feels better, but I doubt I would have this mindset today without the therapy. Best of luck to ya
