Are there any hands on teaching out there? Some of us just don't have a green thumb naturally. .lol

Buy some lettuce seeds, basil, and radishes. Grow them inside under lights. When youve played with those for a couple months you should have a better idea about indoor growing. The easiest solution is usually the simplest one, dont over think it. Also dont be afraid to ask and read, every thing youll ever need is right here.

^^^^^ Is what I did.

When I first started out. I bought some seeds online from a vendor that offered a really good deal with freebies. I grew the freebies the first few grows, so that I could make the mistakes on those, watered by hand so that my face was in the plants and I could see what was going on. I asked a whole bunch of questions no matter how stupid i thought they were. The two biggest things I learned were 1) keep it simple and 2) Don't touch the plants/seeds/sprouts 4235423654264 times a day.

I dunno about where you live but some garden stores/centers offer classes to the public on general gardening. And I know some hydroponic stores offer crash courses as well. The hydro store I frequent often around the corner from my home offers them, though Ive never been to one myself.

God help the newb that starts here lol. It seems that for every question asked there are 50 different answers given. Coming here for help is not for the faint of heart either as it seems 90% (or more) of the threads turn in to mean spirited fights of ego. Yup sadly I find it entertaining though, but would be really confused if I didn't posses just enough knowledge to be dangerous. To OP, if using this forum, perhaps start by reading a bit because that's the first thing you'll get beat on about lol. Then learn basic botany, "Its just botany" is probably one of the top 10 replies . Again good luck if starting here, hope you got thick skin.....armadillo thick lol.

Once a guy realizes that theres no right way to grow, just a right way to grow in your situation, and that everyone's situation is going to be way different than the next guys, method, room size, fertilizer type, plant type, grow medium, outside temps, heat issues, humidity, security, pests, stealth required, plant counts, and whatever else. All these play a factor in the growing process and require money, and knowledge. The best way to grow is to get from A to B with the least problems possible.

Oaksterdam University offers classes. I think a plant propagation class at a local CC would be helpful. Like most say - don't over think it.

Read, but take everything you've read with a grain of salt, a beer/neat glass of scotch, and a bong rip. Then, put it the time to make that thumb green, even if you have to redo the tattoo a few times. Seriously, you'll learn more from each grow than any number of books will "teach" you. That being said, if the thumb is really that bad, some major disasters can be avoided with a little bit of perusing. Without taking these literally, "don't get your panties in a bunch", "there's no replacement for displacement", and rather than going "the whole nine yards", I'd go "10", for good measure.

You don't need "hand's on" training!

Read up on keeping a tropical house plant. Get yourself an African violet.
After learning about tropical's and keeping them indoors.
pH, soil structure, relative humidity, temps and lighting/lighting times.....All covered by African violets....
If you can get that African Violet to bloom, you shouldn't have any problem with MJ.
