First time DWC

Hey peps.....I figured it was time to try my hand at Hydro so I decided to just setup one small bucket to see what happened I've learned a lot about Hydro in the short time doing it. My set up is a 3 1/2 gallon bucket rock wool and clay pebbles for medium Advanced Nutrients 3 part with bud Candy 3x3x5 tent 600 watt mh/hps...the strain is a Subcool tester strain Apollo 13 X Pennywise she's 30 days into flower and she smells pretty oh so pretty and she's sticky as fuck resin production is piling on right now she just seems a bit slow flowering to me....I usually have bigger flowers by now as you can see these are meer preflowers any opinions would be cool....thanks people

Nothing wrong with that... Looks good.... And anything with Apollo in it is definitely a plus imo.. If she's more Apollo like get ready to figure out a way to hold those branches up cuz they'll topple over once they start packing on the weight... Apollo tends to build big buds with branches not strong enough to hold them up on her own... Most plants need support eventually depending on how your growing them but Apollo/Apollo dominant phenos tend to need more than the average plant...

I'm actually getting the stuff together now to run pretty much the same setup for my mothers... For the moment I'll be doing a single bucket setup just so I can get them up and going but I plan to eventually turn them into a 2 bucket setup for each plant to make it a little easier to maintain by connecting 2 - 5 gallon buckets with a piece of 1.5" abs plumbing pipe and uniseals for each plant so I'll have a larger capacity for one and two, i won't have to pull the plant out into another bucket to check ph or ec... 1 bucket is for the plant, the other is basically a control bucket...

I was going to just use a larger rubber maid type res but no matter what I tried to think up I'd still have to pull the plant somehow or lift the lid etc... I saw this setup on high times website a long time ago and just figured out how useful it is.... Not so great for space saving but worth it for what I'm doing....

Yeah I love Apollo 1e strains but I've never grown one.......also I've never grown a plant that had buds so small 42 days into flower it's like somethings wrong but I haven't had any problems if you look at the leaves on top they are praying and everything .....I just don't know what the fuck is going on with this thing

Nah youll be alright... if I remember right it really packs the weight on at the end... also I have a pennywise mother I haven't grown in awhile but that's another 8-9 week strain but I'm not really familiar with the actual harlequin strain, so if it's leaning more towards Harley she may take longer but I don't think that's the case cuz it has standard Apollo looking structure...

I'll say it here again as some people say I'm crazy but finishing times get better once you're running clones of her... even though she was sexually mature when u flipped her it might have taken a bit longer to trigger her into flowering after u switched the lights to 12/12 so give yourself another week-10 days extra because it's from seed... clones obviously come from a more than sexually mature plant because they're in perpetual veg so they instantly trigger on the first long dark period because theyre "ready to go" if that makes sense... you can germinate a seed on 12/12 lighting and it will veg just fine until it's ready to flower but your still basically forcing it before you probably should so usually 12/12 from seed isn't the best idea... but she looks like u vegged her halfway decent so just be patient and don't be surprised if it takes a week or 2 longer than the estimated flowering times..

if u cloned her I'm betting next go round you'll be able to cut that 1-2 week extra off flowering time as sub cools strains are usually spot on with the suggested flowering times, and I'd venture a guess and say those are flowering times stated from best case scenario via clones...

His apollo strains are some of my favorites... I bought 1 - 10 pack of "the void" (purple apollo) probably 5 years ago and I have 1 left... that pack gave me probably 6 keepers so far but sadly I let all of them go over the years and the best one in a recent move so definitely post back here when you get done n let me know what u think as once I get my op tuned in I'll be hunting for a good apollo cross... 90% of my grow room is tga and I can't say I have any complaints... I recently purchased a 10 pack of gage green "blue in green" as I wanted a blue dream-ish strain and that's what I decided on... i have my first round from clone just about ready to come out of the flowering room and coincidentally; it looks kinda like apollo/the void with those big knobby calyxes... hopefully it's as good... everyone I've given my best pheno of the void (it really is just purple apollo) dubbed it "artist weed" cuz they got so creative on it... definitely my all time favorite daytime smoke that I need a replacement for...

Definitely keep us updated with your progress... I'd like to see how she plays out...

Edit: I just looked at your pic on day 30 from your first pic, and then the one at day 42... I think your fine plan on 60 days minimum if not a little more... but it looks like your right on track... the only thing I would take into consideration for causing it to go a lot longer would be if u had some kind of major stress instance in 12/12... but it looks like your doing just fine so just roll with it... and as subcool himself would tell you "it's done when it's done"... I'd take her just as u started to see some ambers on the buds mid way down the plant... all cloudy or clear will most likely give u a paranoid type high... just a few ambers here and there around the halfway point of the plant will give u a nice upbeat sociable/creative high and not too intense with some body stone (don't go by ambers on the leaves, always go by what u see on the buds...the leaves always have ambers sooner than the buds and is a false indicator)...

In the meantime I'll see if I can dig up some of my void pics... truly one of the most beautiful plants I had the pleasure of growing...

One of those "the void" phenos I had smelled like burnt rubber but in a good way if that makes sense... I really loved the intended cross of apollo13 x querkle that had a tiny bit of grape taste/smell to that apollo taste but had a more body high... Also looking just like apollo13 and being purple didn't hurt either... but I honestly grew to like the apollo dominant phenos more so I'll probably be ordering apollo13 bx and the void again eventually but I got enough going on right now with untested phenos of Brian berry cough x 3, qleaner x 1, ggg "blue in green" x 2, Acapulco gold from barneys farm that a buddy of mine demanded I grow for him that's wasting away because it needs to be cloned and re grown... all those on top of 2 phenos of cheese quake that I'm familiar with, or thought I was until I used it for my first go round in my flood tables to be disappointed when I thought it was an obvious safe bet... and several others that I have that I haven't ran through my flood tables yet so i have a lot of learning coming my way...

Mary is a funny bitch.... sometimes u think u know her so good.... then she lets u know how little u do know once in awhile....

I have A couple cheese strains........I got one you'd probably love.....it's blue cheese X pennywise.....it's tsunami a Subcool strain.......its hard to get good genetics

I don't wanna blow up your spot but are u in the us or no? I'm trying to make it less conspicuous as if it matters anymore in this world of corruption... I'm in a med state so I can buy meds legit but it's a no go on the grow your own however... its just an impossibility to try n buy meds for myself and the handful of people I do it for when I can grow better shit than the dispensaries, charge half the price and give them strains they can understand, read about and check out how its gonna effect them before they smoke it on top of not going broke on shit they get talked into.... But with me they can put in a recommendation for a strain or buy seeds and I'll grow them for them....but at the dispensaries it's unnamed shit thats named "daytime CBD" or "night time indica", you have nothing to compare it to, read about it somewhere, nothing... and it's either too speedy or too couchlock, they grow so shitty man... every single bud I've put under a budscope from the bud shops are either over ripe on the indicas so it's straight couch time, under-ripe in the case of sativas that they charge $$$ for... fuck that, I'd sleep better not risking it growing but its just not doable so fuck it... maybe one day I could do it legit but I agree it sucks on the under ground shit when it's totally legit 2-3 states away and actual individuals like me are making a good tax-paying living a few hundred miles away, here I'm an "outlaw" going broke to do something I enjoy for 1 and for 2 it's the only illegal thing I could ever do and not feel I'm not stealing people's soul with painkillers like the rest of the world does. it really is kinda a joke though... I literally was gonna move to a legal state and do what I do but I gambled and hoped the laws at home would follow suit but I got fucked obviously... so if u ever get the chance to go to a legal place n do your thing but "home might pass something.." go to the legal place, fuck home, lol...

But have u tried hempdepot.ca? It's a Canadian place that takes money orders and has been spot on with the delivery all the time... be careful sending it to your own house where u do your growing obviously... I send them to friends I know I can trust without even telling them sometimes... but I order maybe once every year if not 2... 2-3 strains keeps me busy for like 2 years n I still feel like I don't know them...

I haven't ordered from attitude or any other in years now that I think about it.. you have to put a legit name and corresponding address on the package or else it won't make it through customs for certain... basically if they run the name and see the person doesn't have some kind of association with that address it's gonna get snatched every time... try n mix it up with seed banks if u have been using the same one... sometimes they get wise to a certain banks packaging.... or go with attitude or one of the other places that guarantees delivery for a price or whatever... it takes forever if they get snatched cuz u gotta send them the customs form and all that shit proving u didn't get them but at least you'll eventually get them or your $ back if they can't get them to you....

I've never lost a package thankfully but I haven't used anyone but hempdepot over the past couple years... it kinda limits u cuz they don't have massive selection like some banks but they have all of TGA's shit, and a bunch of others but there's other places with better selection however I can usually make it work with the depot...

I have not grown out that Acapulco gold yet cuz it's a longer flowering strain than most of my current ones but i definitely plan to in the near future... I'm actually dying to run it myself but Im not sure about it yet... I'm gonna run a couple small ones soon and see how it does...
