cool tube will do a better job then anything u are going to jerry rig uphave a cabinet in garage I want to flower out of it is4'×4'×8' I have a 1000w bare bulb I wanna use any.ideas how to cool a bare bulb or sshould.I just use 400w cool tube
That's iffy advice....the hoods cord could be rated for 400w...as in a thin cord. and you're telling him to run 1000w thru it....fire waiting to happen. just sayingcool tube will do a better job then anything u are going to jerry rig up
just so u know the cool tube is a hood it can use any type of single end bulbs......it uses a S plug that goes into the ballast and that dicktates what bulb u use (so if u upgrade ballast to 600w or 1000w later u can still keep the same hood)
plus a cool tube is 6 inches that is a 400 cfm inline fan or a 240 booster fan ........that little ramble all means cool tube

this is my fav hood
yes they do....but they also make them rated for the bulb....like my 600w hood has a cord a lot thinner then my 1000w hood. ...I'm just saying to check it out before running 1000w thru itthey make hoods to accept a mogul base, and should be wired to take up to a 1k ballast and bulb no problem.
so you don't think I'm b.s. you....wasn't aware they did that, i have 2 different hoods and 2 cool tubes and they all have the same cord.
that could be an issue. i'd try it and keep an eye on the cord for a day or two, if it seems to be getting hot,
i'd rewire it with the right size wire, pretty easy d.i.y. job.
