400w hps vs 300w led

Hi I was just looking at buying a 1200mm×1200mm tent and ether a 400w hps or a 300w led. I've done some reading and they say to stay away from cheep leds. The one I'm looking at is

I would go for a 600w min for hid, for led, I would only buy a COB, otherwise a 315w cdm would be great.

Yeah I've only ever grownen with a 400w hps and had pretty good results but not very good yeald. How about a 300w led + a couple clfs?

Prob not as good as your 400w. I wouldn't waste any money on led unless you are buying cob, but that's just me.

I use a LED from Summit Grow Labs and it is working out very well. I also run a 400 watt HPS in another tent. My LED is a combo of CREE COB and Bridgelux 5 watt diodes. Something like this would work very well for you. Check it out

you need a 800 watt led . then it will compare to a 400 watt hps I would by the led

I use a 600W LED in my 2x2 feet tent along with some bluer CFLs and I wouldn't recommend going 300W.

Both of these lights pull less than 140 watts from the wall about equal to a 250 watt hps... Save your money till you can afford good.Cob leds.. they're getting cheaper

viaspa don't buy that brand customer service takes 2 days to answer . a lot of other reason not to buy from them . check this brand out I currently run these and could not be happier . meizha reflector series . get the 1200 watt version . it compares to a 1000 watt hps ! only 229 ebay . use for veg or flower , I use the blue and red in flower sexy as hell plants from it . the 1200 I measured it my self pulling 570 watts ! don't dick around get the 1200 its bad ass and best value , huge yield ! im not a sales men .

how long you been running the meizhi leds? you dont find the center of that 1200 led creating a hotspot and bleaching tops? hoe high do you run it? and do you get good penetration also?

I have the big plants about 12 to 15 inchs away depending on the plants if you will and I threw a small plant on a bucket to see how close I could get it with out burning or bleaching the plant a plant I don't care about . well the plant is currently about 4 inches away !! for last 5 days no issues yet . but my ventilation is very good . I had plants 1 month in under a hps . ordered the led , threw it on top of the same plants shut the hps off . running the led the plants are responding the same as my hps plants on the other side of the room .. only difference is the led plants are a lot more dense and look more mature possibly going to finish 1.5 weeks sooner then the hps will see. more sugar resins . so I used this led for about 30 or so days . penetration is very strong ! will blast easy 4 foot deep into your plants . I wear dark green glasses made for blow torch welders . or you will be in serious trouble these lights are insanely bright . I comparing the 1200 meizha to a 1000 watt hps with a open hood .
