CBD God (BC Bud Depot)

Anybody have experience with this strain? It's meant to be high CBD, but sounds highly variable in that seeds will produce ratios between 4:1 and 1:4 CBD/THC. Wondering if it a complete crap shoot as to what you get, or if there is a general range you can expect.

I'm kind of looking for a 1:1 ratio, or at least a high THC as well as high CBD. Sounds like a great strain, but some consistency and predictability would be nice.

Update:

After reading very mixed reviews of BC Bud Depot I am pretty reluctant to order this strain. Sounds like a lot of people don't get their orders from this company. Good genetics but poor delivery rate. There are lots of discussions about this company already, but any tips in this regard are also appreciated.

I think their issues stem from being a half-assed seed company. They grab genetics, do minimal work then re-sell them at full price under their own banner but misrepresent them as original strains. I believe that CBD God is one of thirs. That said, I bought a few times off them in the past and never had a delivery problem. I think anyone who's complained about them has been duped by a similar domain name that was setup strictly to rip people off. Have never had any issues with delivery or shipping the wrong items or the like, always received within a week of order. Their proper domain is: https://www.bcbuddepot.com/.

No experience with their CBD God and I doubt you'll find many in here that have grown it. With any strain, particularly regulars and unworked strains, it's a crap shoot and finding the killer pheno in a pack takes a good eye/nose and some luck. No different with 90% of what's out there. I did find a very good keeper pheno of Harlequin in one of their packs, you'd probably be better off with that one, they have Harlequin BX4 (who knows if it actually is, I had a ton of variation in their BX3's). My pheno is not a big producer but has incredible taste/smell, been running it for ~2 years.

grown cbd god, the ones I got all hermied to some extent, the cross I made with them hermied as well. I would not grow it again but it was good and I felt like it was high in CBD. Id go with pennywise or something else. Im trying therapy cbd right now..
might even find old pics of cbd god in my old journal.

Cool, thanks for the replies. I had a couple of Delta-9 strains that were super prone to bananas, I def do not want to go through that again. Still have seeds sprouting up here and there. And yeah, variation in any strain, but particularly CBD ones, what with two cannabinoids to track and all.

Have you been able to do any testing on your Harlequin pheno? I'm looking at getting some of BC Buds Bx4 from midweeksong.com and was hoping to hear how it came out in the actual ratio. At least good smoke? Maybe some analgesic qualities you've picked up on? Thanks!

No, not yet but I'm about to early in the new year. Now that we have medical and the ability to send out samples for testing I'll be getting a couple of strains/crosses tested. This Harlequin pheno I have and a recent cross with it will be tested. It's tough and costly but for the CBD there's really no way to confirm other than testing them.

I tried a home kit which included the ability to show CBD content and it showed it to be high but not an exact analysis, looked like it was ~8% according to their chart. THC is easy, or at last overall profile you can tell whether you get fried or not with THC, CBD not so easy.

Edit: To know for sure you'd have to test any strain/pheno as there's always variation, regardless of what the breeder's say.

Sweet! I'd be interested to hear what your findings are. I'd love to find a good even ratio as I usually enjoy the high, too, but I saw some strains in dispensaries in Oregon--names of which now elude me--that were labeled at over 20% CBD and very low THC! Percentage like that seems like a foolproof salve and edible strain.

I'm looking at doing some trial runs of a fews high CBD strains, Harlequin is seeming to top the list for potential, but I've heard good things about Charlotte's Web, Cannatonic and Canna-Tsu, though I am unable to find any good source for those three. Do you have any positive experience with other CBD strains?

Yeah should have some around end of Jan/early Feb, depending on how long the lab takes. But pay attention to the last edit/comment I made about phenos. If you're planning to grow from seed the only way to be sure of CBD content will be to test your pheno(s).

If you're in a legal state like OR you might be better to try and find a clone from a known/tested pheno to be sure of it's CBD content.

Harlequin is the only one I've grown and now crossing it to find a 75/25 THC/CBD pheno as I think there are benefits to CBD but more in combination with high THC.

The other high CBD strain/pheno you didn't mention and is a clone-only/legit CBD content is called Frank's Gift. not available in seed form although Doc from Doc's Dank Seeds has been working with it and may have something coming out in the future. That FG clone would be worth finding, I'm in Canada and don't have that option :(

I'll keep an eye out for your results!

Unfortunately I only visit Oregon periodically, here in Montana we haven't got any shops with clones yet. Not entirely sure when/if that'll happen. Frank's Gift does look solid! Hope they can stabilize the genetics!
