Hi points are junk imo.
They ain't match grade weaponry, but for the price quite a nice (if heavy) pistol.
They are ugly as sin but they work and (for me) have worked reliably over a decade.
Only FTL I had w/ it was when the mag spring broke (which is where the lifetime "no questions asked" warranty is a nice deal). No jammed case, the last round just didn't get picked up by the slide.

YMMV...but you should try one before you completely dismiss them.
Hi Points have a VERY polar reception out there on the net. You either love them or hate them.

That said, the RI Armory 1911 or S&W K-22 are the match grade "safe queen" machines in the stable.
The Glock and Hi Point are the workers.

Have you shot one? I hear a lot of people say that but when I actually let them shoot mine they change their mind. I have a 9mm and .380.

Do I prefer more refined guns? Yes.

I support what Hi-point does. Make guns that anyone can afford.

Yes they are missing bells and whistles. Yes it is heavy. Yes it looks are lacking.

Other than those mine have gone bang every time. They chew through brass and steel case like its nothing. They are accurate.

For the two I own, I would prefer a different gun, I would trust my life to them both.
good reply! i'll take a gun that shoots true to a relic that's costly and can't hit shit or jams every third round...

I get not liking it. It worked though. There is little recoil from them to.
i've never had a problem out of a hi-point, and i've owned 5. i always traded up, but that's due to wanting brands and making my pop happy, or trading for gifts for family.

i felt the same about taurus, but i still have my chrome .357, and she's still a fucking beast. to this day, five stand walkers got popped due to my taurus side arm. i was looking out over 350y, and had bucks walk right underneath me. great revolver, that taurus!

People that call virtually any brand of firearm junk have no idea what they are talking about. There are firearms at every price range. Some are more accurate than others. Some are built better than others. Bottom line is they all go boom. If you have the slightest clue and a little practise; anyone can be accurate enough to protect themselves using any level of firearm.

You're right. For what they are and what they cost yes they do the trick. Just not my cup of tea i suppose. I was a bit over zealous saying junk.
