Super soil and soilless mixes (coco + perlite) operate differently.

Super soil is designed to feed your plants over an extended period of time. Typically nothing else would need to be added bar the usual water. And the odd feeding of the microherd. Which in turn helps to feed the plant.

Soilless mixes like coco coir + perlite need everything added to them. Usually every second or third watering is also a feed.

Soilless. Which is a form of hydro (correct me if I'm wrong), can yield you more weed and faster than soil.
But, soil is more forgiving on new growers.

Some people also prefer soil grown weed because it's supposed to taste better. Where as the soilless stuff is supposedly more potent. Though, I heard it can cause some people to have headaches. Unlike soil grown stuff.

ye i smoked coco grown stuuf bfore that gave me a hedache but im pretty sure the dude dident flush it properly n stuff but idk so far when i grew an afghani in canna terra pro soil only fed it 2 times with biovega never phd and im prettynsure it would of been fire but i had it out side 4 once walking home there was a cop shopper hovering above my back yard so i pulled it out of paranoia i used a product called great white mycorrhizae holly shit it worked the roots had some hairs tho heres a pic think it was taken around a month old it was a free seed from herbies i think it seedsman genetics

i feel ur pain been thru hundreds in seeds the auto i got going atm i dont expect any thing but im gunna keep it goin just 2 see waiting for some beans 2 get here gunna try and grow some blue dream or some ak47 but good luck man i hope it turns out 2 b fire what strain are u going

Bag seed. Just like my previous attempts. And my next run.

I mean. I do have better seeds to use. But, until I can get a smoother run. And get a bit larger yield. I won't be wasting my good beans.

I was gifted some Colombian Gold (5), Shiva Shanti (3) & Mullumbimby Madness Haze (5). These are the ones I'll only plant, after I'm better at growing.

I've still got another 4, technically 5 mystery beans left. But I suspect one to be either sour diesel or one of the lemony strains. Came from a long pointy bud with a very citrusy aroma and uplifting smoke.

That's how I was feeling about this grow. I wasn't expecting anything. Since I knew nothing about the beans I was chuckin in. Not only that. But my history of inevitably not having a plant. I was like- yeah I'll probably find a way to fuck this one up too.

Looks like i might get at least 5g. Maybe more. I can't tell when they're like this. I've never been this close to flowering cannabis before.

ye i cant get bagseed but im gunna collect seeds n just grow the freebies dam mullimbimy maddness would love 2 grow aus strains the heat here sucks im def gunna stay away from autos till i know what im doing i had a free seed left i was gunna germ it but i droped it now i cant find the fucker lol i bought some humboldt seeds blue dream 3 a vision seeds northern lights auto 1 it was on speciel and i got a free ak 47 think ill do the ak 1st i wanna grow somthing sativa dom so i can have some energy 2 do shit plus i dont think iv only ever smoked hydro so im keen 2 give some soil grown a shot. this is the stuff i get it pretty dense but i dont think it was cured theres like no smell

Smell comes from terpenes and they evaporate over time.
Personally, I don't like my buds too stinky. Makes it harder to maintain stealth and is a sign that plants have been overstressed. (Stress causes stink -- and increases the chance of hermaphroditism.)

If you want stinkus maximus, here's the recipe:

• Start with a strain known for aroma.
• Make sure plants are getting plenty of sulfur.
• Give 'em lots of UVB.
• Top dress with frass. (Simulates insect attack.)
• Let growing medium dry out completely between waterings. (Wait until plants start to droop a little.)

Speaking of smell, last night I pulled my girls out to give em all a good soak on the drain table. The fifth plant had a very distinct stank that the others didn't have. So I whipped out a bright flashlight and started looking very closely. No flying bugs & no mites. Cool. Then I saw something move on top of the soil. Gave the pot a big squeeze, and looked closely at the dirt... YIKES! Fucking root aphids everywhere!
Fuck fuck fuckity fuck.
Well that explains the smell. Later, I found a second plant that was also infested.
Sprayed some insecticidal soap and top dressed all plants with insect frass.
No sign of the little buggers this morning.

kk cheers will look into it hay im groing a auto its 4 weeks old its veging still but it dident get of 2 the best of starts im notacing a faint pot smell if stress can bring out smells could the stress of over watering and heat do that ?

Good luck with those root aphids. I hear they can suck big dick. I don't know your best treatments at this point.
