Have you ever read the MMPR small scale thread? It's really interesting....in summary, there was a group of people here who were really excited about the new program that was in the works....small to med scale growers who saw this as their opportunity to help more people out than just the 2 patients per address type thing....there was one person here who mortgaged their house on the dream of that application to be an LP....only the reality of the sitch was that the government had different plans....corporate cannabis....we tried to tell these small mom and pops that they weren't part of the plan....just because LPs have paid millions to win a golden ticket doesn't mean doesn't mean they deserve it...
Hey, I have an idea... let's take a man's life's work and reduce it to "he's in it for the money". Lame as fuck.

What we take issue with is a concerted effort by the lousy producers, most of them former government officials, to lobby the government to remove patient rights and affordable access. They had a choice to side with patients and gain some rep, but greed took over and it was profits before patients. With the promise of smaller players becoming part of the supply chain and the ability to grow for ones self, the future doesn't look bright for the LP's. Notice how they are all talking about export now, 'cause they know they won't survive providing an inferior, over-priced product to Canadians who have a choice.

Exactly, I was one of them, I dropped everything I was doing, spent over a year on the application, spent probably over 10k on the application, I spent probably a million dollars on a property, I hired some fresh young minds who have the science background needed, we did it all, but in the end we withdrew because nothing was happening with our app. I thought it would of been nice to have a small operation, (and when I say small we still had a few million figured in our budget)
Long story short, nothing is happening so what to do? we withdrew, better to not have my property tied up LP limbo. Heck I know 2 guys right now still in limbo since before the damn MMPR even launched. At the same time I have witnessed all kinds of corruption and greed on behalf of the current LP's. So yes FUCK them.
Maybe it was a harsh comment, but when I come here to read about something that is going on in our community, and half the comments are personal attacks on an activist, calling him out for being a hack and a money grabber, it pisses me off. I get sick and tired of listening to people whine and bitch about shit, then when someone puts him/herself out there, people jump all over them for making a living and wanting nice things.
I don't know ME, not even had so much as a conversation with the man, but his opinions echo mine, so I guess it's an attack on me, on an emotional level. I can't stand people that sit around and moan about MJs legality, but when someone stands up, members of the same community bash them back down to make themselves feel better. I know it's stupid to argue on the internet, because no one cares, but I gotta be me. So unless you are one of the people bashing activists, my comment is not directed at you. I'm so used to being opposite stupid anti-pot people that sometimes I forget where I am.

Who's intimidating people? I'm not, I simply stated how I feel about people bashing each other for doing things to further our cause, now it seems like I am being accused of being a mouthpiece for LPs, Mark Emery, and talking down to everyone. Don't like what I said? Say so, but intimidating me for having an opinion on some bullshit I don't agree with (infighting and bashing) is you doing the same to me, now I have to defend myself. I personally don't care how long someone is a member or how many friends they have here, I decide whether an opinion will be respected or not. Fuck, even Stephen Harper had a "respected" opinion in his camp.

I have always approached new forums ....by first reading a bunch...then trying to make some friends with the like minded people...
then trying to add some good content to the board ...in the case where you may have some idea's that no one else has expressed
you can get the opportunity to have a collective group of minds discuss what your point was and usually expand greatly on the subject at hand.

This is a guy, who among other things, used to advocate that people over 50 or 55 were a burden on society and should kill themselves.
I'm sure he's changed his mind on that. I know it sounds crazy but he really did go around saying that.

Thanks Cannadan, I agree with what you said, and perhaps I should tone down my sarcasm in the future, as I'm not a serious guy and never hold a grudge. Life's too short for that shit.
I think if the couple people who misread my comment, or perhaps misunderstood where I was coming from, went back and re-read it they might see it as more benign than it came off as. I read many threads on this forum, as well as the others, and the amount of bashing people, breeders, seed sellers, etc...is just staggering and disheartening. I have no time for people who diminish others accomplishments by one sentence slams built purely on conjecture.
Case in point, DD runs up yapping about a bunch of shit I didn't even say. Dude, learn how to reading comprehension. Nowhere did i say I was going to set anyone straight, nor did I lump anyone together. You did. I didn't even say one single thing about ME, aside from not beating up his accomplishments because he makes good money doing what he does.
