Ideas for a more "automated" watering?

I'm glad I saw this thread. Some years ago I was going out of town for a few days during my grow and setup a small watering system based on a 1 or 2 gallon paint bucket, an aquarium pump and drip system manifold with lines coming off it and into the pots.

I set it up on a timer and it came on while I was gone, worked great. Came back to healthy plants.

My next grow will be scrog and micro and I hadn't taken tight working quarters into account as far as watering is concerned. Good thing I saved that system when I dumped my old box. Thanks!

I run a run to waste system been doing it these way for 20 years. I make all my ring feeders up my self and run them off a aquarium pump with timer. The ring feeders sit in side the pot on top of the coco. I think its one of the best way for automated watering

I would eventually like to go into something like that. But I am still pretty new to the game and ive been changing and doing so many different things ive been learning im still trying to keep everything as old school as possible while making it convenient.

Ok 1786 the front line you connect all of your pot together and go's to your waste tub. The back line is to connect to feeder rings from your pump. 1787 is just how the ring feeder sits in the top pot you do have two pot a top and bottom. I hope that help I put up a few pictures to show you a bit more

ok, so you have 2 pots, the top one has a bunch of holes for drainage, then lined with fabric or something so the roots dont go through? about 3gal?
then into the bottom pot that drains out to a waste tub. all that drain tube and waste must have some slope to it.

You pretty much got it. Just the pots are 50 litres or 13 gal and I use what they call a pot sox for a liner. Which you can buy over here they just make it a lot easier to replace coco. The root will grow through the bottom of the pot. The pot sox come in 20 30 and 50 litres and you get 3 in the bag
