Is it possible to affect genetics in autoflowers?

Okay so I ordered two Autoflower Purple Kush one of them is autoflowering perfectly it looks like it should. the other one looks like a totally different plant and is way way bigger and hasn't started flowering yet when it should have, plenty of pre flowers though all over the plant. I snapped the root tip on her when putting in rockwool but it still end up sprouting anyway and survived. I'm wondering if the stress that was caused by snapping the tip is why it looks so different from the other Purple Kush and won't go into autoflowering? First time growing Autos don't know much about them but u guys think its possible to affect genetics traits of an auto by stress to the point where it completely won't go into auto flowering?

You dont effect genetics ... You only stress or stunt. Mishaps during its early stages ( seedling to preflower ) will greatly affect overall grow. This is why these are over thought when growing ... All these autos are " plug and play " .... Meaning just sow the seed and it grows ... No transplanting or rough handling. Transplanting can rip the taproot and the AUTOS cannot recover in time. They are hardwired in its overall growth from seed to maturity.

If you overfeed , overwater , stress it or something else CAN and WILL change the outcome. You can still end up with a flowering plant or something that will stall.

Some GENETICS of autos are STILL UNPREDICTIBLE because of its mixed breeding and you can end up with males , hermies and plants that " act " more like regular seeds.

If seed refuses to flower ( and it is a respectable size from vegging ) you can " force flower " it like any other plant by flipping her to 12/12.

That's exactly what I was going to ask next should I go to 12 and 12. What I read is that you should never go to 12 and 12 on Autos because they like more light than anything. But if it's not acting like a auto I don't know what else to do. I started growing them 20 and 4 and when I realize that the other one wasn't flowering. I thought maybe I could put it on 18 and 6 maybe that would help it to flower and that's what I did for almost 2weeks now but still nothing. She's just going to have to wait a few days until I get my new tent because the other plant is flowering just fine and I'm not about to change the time to 12 n 12 with that one still in there.

In short , no..........im in the same boat as you, & going from seed , this can happen, its something to to do with the gene pool & seeing all the pheno's..........my plants are that different , even to extent of heat tollerance

Autos are good if your good, if your average, or make 1 mistake , youll pay

I sprouted 2 photos this year , suppose to b the same strain, & when they got 2 the 3rd set of leaves , they were different, im not sure , but IMO its got to do with all the crossing & back crossing of strains, eventually something shoots off, a bit like a pure white deer turning up in a mob of browns , & never seen b 4

Compare these, every thing is exactly the same, strain , germ time , soil, everything
They say its just eventually u will see all the phenos the strain has, it doesnt happen often, & id just run with what you have
Another thing ive often wondered is , the potential for mistakes when packaging the seeds, ie human error

Anyway im sure its not because of tap root damage.........IMO

Did that plant throw any pistils ?? ( hairs )

If it did ... It has begun to sex and you can leave it as is ... Sometimes some plants lag behind. Check the plant to see if it has began showing its sex BEFORE deciding to flip 12/12.

Oh yes it has shown it sex long time ago. they both did at the same time it's just she won't full on start to flower. Like you only see preflowers at the start of each node. The other one that seems to be growing right like an Autoflower I just looked at her and her trichomes are showing and they were both planted at the same time. Just to give you an idea how far apart they are in the flowering stage.

How long is a long time ago ?...
Some are slow flowering , at least you know its female .... Lol

If it has been under 2 weeks since first hairs ..... Leave it. It will flower.
If its been longer , then she may have stalled a bit. Flip her.
Then hopefully she will just keep trucking on.

No we're going on like on 3 weeks now since pre flower shown. All she's doing is just growing and growing I even stopped feeding her so much N and more Phos thinking that it's flowering time and she started showing signs of nitrogen deficiency. So I hop her back on the N for a little bit then that cleared up.

Man all I know is these autos..... I'm starting to think I'm an old-school type of person I don't like new things. lol

No worries , some strains are hungrier than others .... And it is recommended to keep veg feed going UNTIL it is really in flower.

Sounds like they are busy making a sturdy and branchy plants ... Which is all good.

I see what you mean by if you make one mistake with Autos you'll pay I just wish I knew what exactly that mistake was other than stressing the plant out and snapping the tip of the route from bean lol seeing how both them grow the same got exactly same amount of nutrients an all

Ha ha branchy ain't the half of it bro. I just hope it flowers in the end because I will end up with a nice yield and very hefty buds I lollipop the hell out of her. But busy with this one is definitely an understatement. She's a lot of work

What I think I'm going to do is when I get the new tent in a few days. I'm going to leave the one that is autoflowering fine in the old tent and put the misfit in the bigger newer tent. And if she doesn't start the flower in a week or so Imma put her on 12 and 12 and keep my fingers crossed. I don't know what else to do....

Update FYI...
I've decided to separate them the one that I know for sure is an auto is on 18 and 6 in a tent with the Clone And the other one that I've started with the auto which was supposed to be an auto, which turned out to be a regular female seed witch is in biggest tent by itself.

She better be a nice bush! Eating all my nutrients costing me money while I'm setting here thinkin she a auto. The first 2 months of her life was spent on 20 and 4 light cycle. So just think of how much water n nutrients she's been dowing in veg for the last 2 months.....

Better be a nice bush considering all the nutrients she consumed vegin for 2 month. I think that's the only reason she got so big. Hope she don't get taller then 6feet that's all I got in the growroom.

typically most people don't top autos however in the extreme case of a plant becoming that tall you can top it though it may reduce growth in that event
