How many days should a plant veg in 7-gal SmartPots? It seems like the general consensus is to let the 7-gal. plants grow to a height of 36", before switching to the 12/12 bloom schedule.
Here's a pic of my 5x5x80" tent. I have horizontal lines drawn at 36" (VEG) and above that an 18" BLOOM space, then a 12" LED panel air space above the blooming top canopy, and above that a horizontal line that represents the 12" at the ceiling that the LED panel will occupy at full bloom.
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or if my 36" veg height is too tall for this tent. Your criticism is highly valued. rnd3.P.JPG rnd3.Q.JPG

Your so on the right track. Thats an absolutely beautiful healthy looking garden. The only thing i see that would help you is you have a shorter bushy plant in the front, might want to put something under it to even out all the top of canopy.
Tell us all about your garden, please! Strain, medium, plant food, light, etc.

I'm vegging 4 to 5 weeks .. I'm using 5 and 7 gal smart pots
God almighty....an real answer!! Go on the frickin' internet and ask my question..... there WILL NOT be even one-direct answer. But by-God.com/ we got one now!!
And while you're here, note this fact. The soil growing-world has changed FOREVER.
Now on notice: A 50/50 mixture of FoxFarms, Happy Frog, etc. and PERLITE will make plants grow like crazy, because now they've got all of these OXYGEN nooks and crannies to store the gas in. Where have I been all of my entire 9-months of gardening??? Lost! My original FoxFarms w/ their perlite compacted like mud!!!

True!, but at least give a starving Pilgrim some estimated time-table that the poor, beat-farmer, sod-buster can grab a-holt' of. Skunk did, and I thank him for it.
I'll grab a couple pics to illustrate what 50/50 looks like after (2) weeks of watering, and the Harbor Freight "SmartPot shuttle" with expanded metal deck for morning/day watering drainage, that will subside before evening tenting.

As far as soil, and I've been in this gardening hobby for well nigh'on 270 days, this is the only "soil" to grow weed in. It's-a-almost-a-hydroponic!
The cart's can be had, delivered, for as low as $73. US, HF has regular 20%-off coupons online, and who ever heard of a lousy $6.95 shipping charge for cross/country?
Soil is 50/50. I flood-water, but to run-off only, 2-times a week. I want to wash the old salts out and put new ones in! :) What I learned from a Perfect Harvest thread, is that all the nutrients drain back into the root ball at night. Flush, or not to flush, the prime-time to chop, would be at night with a mini-mag flashlight - and a spill-proof mug of Starbuck's Italian roast micro-grind / sugar-free Cafe de Vita Mocha (coca-chena), for sustenance.
They have several part numbers for the carts, but this one is for the old style (cotter-pin) wheels, and all four corners are rounded. The taller (right) of my two is HF's latest (with acorn nut wheel lugs) and made cheaper, it has two 90-degree corners and two rounded and the axle trees are lighter. This number may get you the 4-round cornered one. Using a harbor freight adjustable stool I can move down the assembly-line trimming off sucker branches and let them fall on the ground, and just leave them there, under God, the law, and the blue sky without worrying that I'm committing a crime. Big relief.

Farmer told me expect 12 - 18" after they go 12/12. But, Farmer's not a "tenter", so his growth estimate may be apples to oranges. The tallest of mine are 31" now. My fear, like most parents is size of root ball in VEG. The last crop went to bloom at about 30" due to me mistaking a 12 hour setting on the timer's instead of 14/on.
Oh man....what would you do. Bloom now? They've been in 7-gal 50/50 for 29-days.

Are your lights on 18/6 or 24/0?

Is it 29 inches from the floor or from the soil in the container?

If they start getting close to 24" do you super crop, tie them down or throw them into flower? Thanks.
I top 2-3 times. Once they hit 24 inches or close I'll tie the tallest tops down to even out the canopy and open up the center of the plant a little. I let it grow for 3-5 more days, or until I see a few more inches of growth, then it goes to the flower room.
