IDK about the light, but I'll throw this out there. If your in US shipping from Hong Kong can take forever. Do they guarantee a delivery date. Stealth delivery .........

They are using 100x 10w diodes and claim to be 1000watts, they will probably be 300watts because you don't run LEDs at full power. They are probably cheap inefficient diodes so likely not very good and probably less efficient than a HPS so the idea of less heat is redundant.
The fact they are advertising as 1000w grow lights means they are already lying so probably not worth the hassle.

Ebay can be a great place to shop but its full of cheap Chinese crap. Not that all Chinese stuff is crap but the cheap stuff is usually very crap.

If you're looking for cheap LED solutions with great yields I suggest u try the CXB3590 from cree. It requires some DIY but Its definitely the best choice out there imho.

Not cheap.
It costs 100USD for probably 300W. If you'd want to run 300W with the Crees you'd be looking at:
4x CXB3590 CD bin 132USD
4x fans+heatsinks 50USD
1x HLG-320H-2100A 86USD
Total of 268USD, yeah I know... expensive... but WAIT! THERES MORE!
The eBay Leds (DIP @ 35lm/W) yield 105Lm/USD while the Crees (COB @ 160Lm/W ) do 179Lm/USD.

Define cheap

Edit: Additionally there is added spread & canopy penetration

Does anyone have any experience or advice about LED lights on ebay? These lights seem to be very low priced and just wanted to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion before making a purchase decision. Thanks.

I sadly bought a Mars Hydro 600 watt. Okay in veg but sucks in flower. If you have to - Vipar.

But two T8s at Wal Mart for 2 x $10.97. 2 sets of 2 GE T8 K6500 bulbs for $8 bucks. So you spent $40 to veg including clones and babies. You then have two fixtures with 4 bulbs putting out about 14,000 lumens. Using about 132 watts.

Then get one of these to Flower. $149

You can see pics of people flowering with this on the LED Forum under DIY QB Boards.

Im thrilled with my two mars 300w 2 pack from ebay for $140... but i just use them as suppliments to the 1000w hps... id be cautous buying my main fake sun from a no brand ebay buy though.

Most of that crap made by same or similiar factories with anyones name on it. Look how ,many you see look the same and they ahve different brand names. I know this further as i ordered a "middle of road" priced hps bulb off ebay manufacturers website looked legit . They shipped me two seperatly instead of the one i ordered (that was a bonus, i called they said keep em both) problem for them is both bulbs were in differnet boxes, they were supposedly the same bulb right? They just accidently sent it twice. But one was in glossy carxboard box w fancy marketing all over it. The bulb had the brand name in gold print at the base. The other was in a kraft faced plain cardboard box witn a label w the right name on it on the end. Label was like an Avery return address label you could make on your home computer. Bulb had black printing of wattage only on the base. I called them, they asured me it was same bulb just diff packaging. There was a printing i could see under that label on box and i deciphered it and started playing google PI. It took a minute but i found em, a nice chinese comany they make several hps bulb qualities and will gladly sell you whatever grade you would like and if you want you can pay a bit extra for it to be customised with things like your brand name in gold at tbe base and printing of whatever glossy graphics you provide them on the box... so baam you can have your own private label bulb set up for you... same comany would make you leds, and just about anything else you wanted to brand up and peddle...

If you ask they will CxB* you Everytime.

I remember when import LEDS were the rage.. Get HPS, never goes out of style. Don't want big light? Get what you like.

*They don't say if you wire the cob a certain way you risk losing all on that string if one fails. 268$ =$400

Timber grow lights stuff looks pretty easy, literally blue wire to blue plug, red wire to red plug green wire to green plug done. Also there is a TON of data out there on COBS scientific as well as experienced growers using them with great success...lots of it on here if you dig around.

Yeah thats the the way i want to go when i start throwing money at them. they are just so spendy as far as upfront cost goes, that i have yet to pull the trigger. think im going to start out with a 4 cob 300 watt set up and just buy more bars like that as I go.. use it maybe as my veg light for a while in addition to the hps and as i get more move them in as supplements to the HPS and eventually replace entirely... buying LEDs for a cheap ass lol
