Autos will do better inside because you can provide them 24 light the whole way through.

You can also veg a photo for months and months on 24/0 indoors then flip it and have a monster.

:bigjoint: Happy New Year.

I have seen some monster trees outside though. Photos that is.

I was thinking of trying some auto outdoor this summer here in Oregon due to the wet fall they would be over before the nasty weather

I agree 100% with highlowgrow, you will most likely see better yeilds indoors. Autos need as much light as possible and it's easier to control an environment to give them optimal conditions, most of the grows of autos I see outside are small single cola plants, but there are couple people who can get them to thrive, just throw one or two outside this year and do a couple inside at the same time same strain and see for your self

you can veg regular plants inside in the early spring and create a hoop house or something to create light deprivation, for an early summer harvest.

I would think outside in a perfect full sun location the auto would outgrow indoor

Just because its the sun

The sun is also free

Growing autos outdoors would be a neat trick to keep our plants out of the rippers hands, as they only go hunting for plants end of season. Yours would already be in the jars!

I agree the sun is the best light for your plants but can you make the sun shine for 18+ hours a day for 3 months? Autos can't get enough light they love it. If I could grow outside I'd give it a shot cause to me autos outside are way more of challenge, it can be done don't get me wrong I personally have only seen a couple of good outdoor auto grows

Oregon gets 18 hours of sunlight for a couple of months due to being so far north

I hear that. They do that in CA too. Next door. Uncovering and covering twice a day. 2016 grow. A lit up city all night.

inside you can control the amount of water they receive. since autos like it drier but regularly fed, this is easy to achieve indoors. if you're outside youll get more lumens from the sun but you could stand to use a greenhouse to control the amount of water it receives

most likely indoors, auto's aren't really great yielders to begin with so they are best indoors where you can give them a lot of light and a lot of care, they also don't do well when stressed and can't really recover from any stress or damage like a photo plant can so indoors is much better to avoid the elements.

If your in a secluded area I'd say the best bet would be keep them outside and bring them in at night for best results that way they get different light intensities and spectrums, the sun is by far the most powerful light source for plants nothing beats it, that being said the sun will cause a greater yield... Also I wouldn't go 24/0 with an auto although that's how ruderalis grows its crossed with a photo and I believe they do better with some sleep... Maybe try 20/4 good luck what ever you decide!

I would go with a auto that says bigger plant size. Short stuff and msnl have some nice big auto strains that have worked for me. They have some 90 and 100 day super autos out that will work good in your area... good luck

Out is great for photos and autos as it's been said before indoor has better growth results. But for me outdoor is to much of a security risk. Besides growing year round such a plus. But nothing beats free light from the sun.
