veg indoors first

I plan on growing some outdoors this summer, and just took a few clones, so will it be ok to veg till end of march? Any issues? I live in the south if that helps with input.

Should work fine if you are careful to harden them off as you transition to the great outdoors.

They could turn out to be trees so tune up your chain saw! :D

im south too. i wait for 13+ to put them out from seed. or veg, then put them out when hours are between 10-12. by that i mean if i veg and hours begin to shorten i put them out after calculating how long ill have dark periods for flower.

good vibes your way

the critical mass I am finishing up is about 4' tall so im thinking outdoors in good conditions I may could see 6-8' ? Is there a limit to when you can no longer transplant?

when you cant lift the plant and the rootmass anymore im guessing? never thought of this.hmmm good question. anyone with experience on this? im assuming transplanting so many times would be kinda useless once you have a well established root system?

if I keep a clone in veg for 2-3 months and move it outdoors into the ground, will it get a lot bigger due to more root space ?
honestly I wasn't planning on digging a huge hole since the ground is fairly sandy. Will I need to break a lot of soil anyway?
The soil you use in your final hole/container Will make a huge difference. If your soil is very sandy/clay like them i would def recommend either digging a hole then backfilling with good soil or using a container especially if you are starting them this early dumping all that money into it. Good luck.

I'd dig a hole that will hold 20 gallons at least. That's not so big. Check in the outdoor forums for ideas and what kind of goodies to mix with that sandy soil for a real decent grow. A guy I know elsewhere grows in his back yard with 100gal smart pots and AN nutes and grows real trees. 14ft monsters in southern Ontario.

How big do you want to go? :)

Australia had a terrible start to the season This year. Lost maybe 2 monthes of growing due to light cycle. Will be waiting to see if the same thing happens to America and Canada .

Clones put outside before May will likely flower right away unless you hang lights over them. You must also adjust your indoor light schedule to resemble outside day length. It's easier to start seeds outdoors in April to get huge plants without added light, if you have a small greenhouse...best of luck
