ok so im ok with 100w per board if i used the 1750ma drivers but then you say fully utilize the driver like it i dont use up all the power is this a bad thing with parallel wiring ? i have more of these drivers than anything else in my collection right now and would like to use them.but...i also have some other stuff i can use if the 1750 is foolish? heres the pile im willing to take from for this qb projectYes you'll be fine. It will be around 100 watts per board. You'll need (240)c1050(series)/c2100(Parallel) to fully utilize the driver.
Most of the answers you seek are in post 1. And the rest are on the front of your Meanwell drivers! So for a start the lower left pair of drivers...each (HLG-240H-C1050B) can power 2 boards in series at 115 watts each.did i mention i hate learning new techs lol
Good to know the think tank is going on ... I have a special build coming ( ordered boards - waiting on heatsink restock ) and will finish as soon as the complete panels come to me.@Budzbuddha thanks for sharing pics. your grow looks great.
For now we only have plants of limited 4000K and 5000K boards.
We are thinking of stocking some 660nm starboards with push connectors to suppliment the board light. No plans for IR chips and maybe UV boards yet.
We thought about dual channel boards 3000K and 5000K but it seems 3000K is doing well enough. Lets see results from 4000K and 5000K boards and then we can see if dual channel(spectrum) boards are needed
Regarding new size boards @Stephenj37826 have been View attachment 3869921 discussing about new board designs all weeks we have a new concept everyday. Things will take a while as we want to create something much better. Holidays in China for next few weeks so things will take a while.
I think only simplicity. I like using the fewest drivers possible...but like sixstring2112, I have quite a collection.is there any advantage to matching one single q-board to one driver? Safety, efficiency?
Do you have the ability to measure the current going to your board?quick ? here. Does the led driver pull the max that it can from my ac side or just what the led's can draw.
I grabbed an hlg-185h-1400a and when i turn it to max power my killawatt meter reads 200 watts which is right for the driver but the board can only pull 116.6v *1400ma = 163.24.
so you can see why i ask
A couple concepts i have been milling over since i seen these damn things
Both would use cree 2700k cobs
#1 has just 4 on the corners @ 62w each
View attachment 3870077
#2 uses 5 x 50w cobs and makes the fixture kinda wide @ around 40 inches but maybe thats not a bad thing.im trying to cover about 4.5 x 4.5 or 5 x 5 like a gavita will @ 750w

Feel free to toss out any thoughts,pros/cons to these 2
Only throwing out an idea with a board with those combined spectrums ... Instead of a single kelvin board but a combined one. Since samsung led engines are available from 6500 down to 2700k in their LH351 high power.I don't think the spectrum charts on the homepage are the quantum boards. Looks more like cob.

No 3 per row I made the mistake of only buying 8 but I don't like them so I won't bother ordering moreHello again peeps.
When getting optics for these, is it one per row of diodes? So I would need 8 per board?
