this is suggesting the energy of various organism changes with temperature correct? like placing an insect in the fridge?
well, now i know who i am: an electrovegan, let me respectfully disagree with your cold shock tek. Anyways... yes, my fungus gnats are smaller an easy to kill at winter yup.

About the moss: have you seen terraformars, the movie?!?

Lol nope. Why?

i dont do the cold shock tek unless im storing ladybugs or ripened EM. The EM storage wasnt prescribed by anyone in particular but since it is a similar culture to the yogurt cultures i figured it would be beneficial to the shelf life. The taste of it remains similar to the EM1 mother culture so i think im on to something. ...

Yeah another mesophiles rule of thumb [it might be the worst rule of thumb ever] is: around 10ºC below their max growth rate temp and they will be both alive & off the game...but still present [ secondary metabolites, wastes, etc]

well its a pretty much stipid movie about a failed experiment over mars surface^

woah its like zero correct datasheets attached to your bagsoils. The scent of the shopping scheme. Lack of hardcore data >:(

this is a retailer company? http://www.foremostco.com/ForemostCo Catalogs & Marketing Sheets/Klasmann Peat Substrates Product Information - ForemostCo.pdf
it appears they are. and that they ammend their peat moss with some low amount of fertilizer. what fertilizer? i couldn't tell by the datasheet........hmmm..

do you ever forage your peat from the wild? it tends to build up a 10cm layer or greater around tree trunks in the forest. just dont forget to cover the base of the trunk with fresh leaves and pine straw (whatever is natural around it) so that the tree doesn't feel naked and erode ;).

as far as bagged soil goes........ nahhh, total ploy in the first place for those who believe their money can buy results.

what a weird datasheet........... it's the same product listed a dozen times? do they expect us to print the sheet packet and lose 11 copies?

wooaa finally getting theae shiitake spores en route. going to play with azomite trace minerals as well. in a talk about anthocyanins in my grow journal it became apparent that the exotic elements found in UV semiconducting electronics are also readily found in blueing and purpling plants. hmmm. for 1$ a lb ..why not

its worth mentioning :
-the plastic container used did not hold up to the stir bar spinning and adgitating bone meal podwer.
-the bone meal powder is abrassive and is likely the cause of the hole cut in the container
-the bone meal powder has also eaten away at the stir bar somewhat and the tips of the magnet inside the PTFE is now slightly exposed.

when all is said and done, the cost of a stir bar itself is, although cheap, not worth using in this situation. im considering a titanium nail as a stir bar. until then this will have to simply ferment.0110171005.jpg 0110171005a.jpg

That is great news I have considered trying this out before just always thought the smell would rival one of my compost teas that was left brewing for a few too many days.

idr if i mentioned i added EM/molasses. thats probably keeping the smell from going putrid. so, it was just equal weight vinegar and bone meal, plus 1:100 EM/molasses to the vinegar
