bodum is making these 34 oz pour overs. the glass is thin like their presses. works w, or without, #2 cone paper filter. similar to a chemex, only diff shape, faster extraction, and big savings on readily avail filters.

I bought one a couple months ago, it works well. It was cheap, you can find them occasionally on Amazon for under $20. It has a permanent filter so no need to buy paper. I prefer to not use paper if I can get away with it so the oils are not trapped in the filter.

I wanted a pour over that would make enough coffee for two people and was dishwasher safe. I do use a Hario Buono goose-neck kettle for pouring the water. While it is very thin glass at that price I won't be upset when it breaks.

I can't compare it to a Chemex, I've never used or tasted coffee from one of those.

I've put a paper filter in a french press and it worked great- just needed a lil patience.

I've been told that paper filters well remove cholesterol and mesh filters don't.

I prefer paper because I hate the silt.

Cholesterol is mostly an animal product. Not thinking it's in coffee. I think there's some molecule in coffee that they say affects cholesterol or such, but I don't think it's cholesterol itself

No matter. In 2016 they finally conceded there's no link between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol. They made a few trillion dollars, so there's the upside.

My wife got a Starbucks gift card for Christmas.
She is going to re-gift it to her daughter.

The nearest Starbucks to us is 10 mi away.

I would not walk across the room for coffee so 10 mi is just a bit out of reach.

And I don't even like Starbucks Coffee because they burn the shit out of it.

I still really like the keurig.
Its ground and sealed with virtually no degradation or loss of volatiles. Its normally still got enough bound co2 to foam.
I guess I should say the k-cups. The machine itself is nothing special

In my world it's the next best thing for us lazy fuckers that don't wanna source bean, roast ground and then extract all fancily.

I sure wish I could try some of y'alls coffee tho

Mine was special. I even named it Katie Keurig!

We used to talk for hours...
