yep, scrog would work to keep your height down.

rdwc: bigger reservoir/amount of water helps keep pH and EC/ppm stable. also, the actual movement of the water gets more O2 to the roots. if you get root rot, all plants usually get it. harder to do different strains since you have to find a nute regimen that works for all of them.

dwc: you'll be adding water to each bucket at least once maybe twice a day as the plant gets bigger. if you get root rot, your other plants don't necessarily get it. you can do different strains easier since you feed each plant what it needs.

Thanks for the knowledge bro are usually just do soil maybe I will do a regular Deepwater culture grow and just make my own set up I already have all the 5 gallon bucket's and I have a pretty good Air pump and that will feed at least five buckets do you know what size the net pot has to be in 5 gallon bucket's a buddy gave me a bunch of 3 1/2 inch Netty pots do you think that is too small also what do you think about doing an auto flowering plant in one of the buckets? i've already started one auto in my veg tent the strand is Trainwreck

i built one of these i have it in my garden its a 6 site system with 7 buckets . with all the buckets connectors and pumps etc its cost me about £600 to build. these are the best systems i have ever used .
As you dont need loads of nutriants or to mess with too much ph etc if you can chill the water its even better . the one thing you do need to use is canazyme as it gets rid of dead root mass . and coverts to nuits etc

i used 5 inch net pots. you can also buy a bucket lid with built in 6inch netpot that will fit on a 5 gal bucket.

only thing about running the auto is how will you do 12/12 for your other plants? autos need at least 18/6 or 20/4.

Current culture is the top of the line in my opinion also charge for being top of the line.

i did but still works out expensive as a good mag drive pump is at least £100/150 and a 60lm silent air pump is like £80-100 but once you have built it you will never need anouther system .
i designed my one to use mdpe big pipe fittings so i could take it to bits in between grows

Actually I can hardly hear that air pump it's pretty quiet I paid like 25 bucks for it off eBay and it was well worth it ,even when I'm outside of my grow tent I can't hear it

i found it realy difficult to find good square buckets in the uk but in the US there are EZ Store 13 gal buckets they are the ones they use in the current culture systems i be-leave . The systms arnt hard to build it does mount up when you have to get loads of bits epecialy with an undercurrent system you can save on the nuits though and all the water in the system can help keep temps down also. but if you chill the water it disolves oxygen better , but it depends how got your room gets i suppose. you can recycle some bits from other system though too.

theyre pretty thick with some nice flat real estate for fittings. does the aspect ratio matter for buckets (i.e. height vs width?)

any repercussions to having short squat bins like that?

One of the guys I followed on YouTube use to use the hdx 17 gallon tote for a RDWC system and it worked great for him you can try and find the video on YouTube hygrohybrid or you can go to hygrohybrid.com it shows the system and has tutorial

I've built a few of these systems a few different ways. I've used both round buckets and the square EZs. The square ones and any bulkhead are much easier to work with. You can find bulkheads fairly easy at most aquarium stores. The most important two aspects of a RDWC are the chiller and air pumps. DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON THESE TWO ITEMS. Also purchase a filter kit from undercurrent if you can. And use the largest size PVC or tubing you can. If you use this system the root mass will clog up anything under 1.5 inches. This will cause you plenty of issues including flooding. By building it yourself it will allow you to spend the same amount of money with a chiller as you would on the system from curren culture. These systems are very efficient for nutrient uptake and will allow you to save money in nutes. Plants veg in them very fast so you will save time and energy there. We use these at the dispensary I manage and they are BEASTS!!!!
