I use it. I only mix it once and I won't mix it in again until after growing in it a couple times or more. It is a salt based mineral so use overtime could cause salt build up but I think you'd have to use a more excessive amount than reccomended to truely do that.

He's talking about Langbeinite I believe. If you google potash of magnesia all that comes up is Langbeinite.

Ah this clears up a lot, I didn't dive too far in the research been a very busy week but for some reason my searching never correlated Langbeinite and the Potash of Mangnesia. I asked the guy at the grow store for Langbeinite but he had never heard of it and showed me the Potash lol. :lol:

I will be picking some of this up so I no longer have to amend epsom into my feedings. :bigjoint:

yea, comfrey is the best stuff man, you'll love it
I wanna grow some nettles and then see if I can do a modified "vegan" grow\minus the wompost and worms which we all know are driven my animals
sorta why I am a lil annoyed at the concept of "veganics"
cuuuuuz it's ALL predicated on having microbiology and lil creatures..
still, I think a nettles, comfrey, kelp meal and neem meal grow would be interesting

I am for sure very interested in this. You have been piquing my interest in comfrey since I first saw one of your posts :bigjoint: I will have to research into the different kinds and growing it :D

just use sparingly, langbeinite has a good amount of potassium in it, and too much can led to problems, also be sure it's in fact a mag def, as certain anaerobic conditions can mimic that, and then it's exacerbated by adding more nutrients
the only times I've seen plants with a true mag def is when they are rootbound
or too wet of a mix/ not enough aeration (which isn't reaaally a def, just that the plant cannot use the mag in the soil)

Yeah the vegan philosophy is a little ignorant from what I'm familiar with. I'm all for cruelty reforms in the meat and livestock industry (I do my part and buy from local farms!), But the keeping of livestock is necessary for sustainable soil fertility and there's just no substitute for cheese! A grow with all those would be awesome, especially in a soil made up of fresh compost and castings.

And it is definitely time for some new herb seeds! I've been looking through seedbanks for the last two weeks but reading descriptions on strains from seedbanks is like reading a local band describe their new album. So I've been poking through people's journals looking for anything that catches my eye.

Any suggestions on seed banks? I have a hard time trusting them! Not for shipping reasons...I don't trust them to give me stable genetics.

Great Lakes Genetics. Get the Gorilla Bubble bx2 and any bodhi strains and then email dbj asking for specific freebies and maybe a solid Starfighter cross from their house breeder. Incredible stuff.

You just have to send a money order or cash thru the mail, but they're as good as it gets. Probably the best freebies from the most reliable US seedbank.

man i'm a huge fan of anything that Bodhi makes, his stuff is markedly nicer than most anything I've tried, and I believe it's great lakes genetics that has the best deals, I personally haven't bought from them (Bodhi himself drops seeds at the place I get them)
but I know of LOTS of guys that swear by great lakes
plus they usually have a buy 2 get one free type of thing

the thing is many of bodhis crosses are stabilized past a few gens. so if you are looking for clone-like uniformity you may want to try finding some f7s
I also like dynasty too, I get them from sannie seeds, but nothing is as good as the Bodhi stuff
not to mention he has damn good taste in the projects he makes, has a good amount of jack herer relatives (my personal favorite strain)
so I love him for that alone
but the pineapplehashplant is just badass
and that pink lotus that i'm running is the most beautiful purple plant I've ever seen
in fact i'm gonna pull it this week I think, maybe later, it's finishing a lil slow in the colder temps

well nothing new, I posted this one a ways back
not sure if you guys saw it
its fading pretty fast because all the phenos I do in really small pots (just a gallon)to make room for them all
plus it saves me from dedicating a lot of space to phenos I don't like
I just flip them right after they clone, and then stuff em in a one gallon, then if I like em I'll go to wither a 3 gallon square or a 5 or 8 gallon
It's a FAR cry from what it'll be when I give it room,. but this one is from like two weeks ago or so
really doesn't do it justice, the finished pics will be a lot better, this plant really surprised me

if you haven't tried any bodhi stuff, you reaaaallly owe it to yourself
I can't remember if we had this conversation or not before, believe it or not I am incredibly blasted right now
i'm in oregon with a lady-friend
she's in the shower and I'm drinking grey goose and cranberry, and bongrips
this is like maybe the fourth or fifth time I've been on this site NOT sober
usually just at my shop
