Medical Marijuana Dispensary Manager (Nanaimo)

Investment group looking to open Medicinal Marijuana Dispensary

Job Type: Full-time Manager

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

-Prior experience working within the medical cannabis industry
-Prior management experience in a customer service position
-Basic computer operating and troubleshooting skills
-Knowledge of medical cannabis strains and applications
-Exemplary communication and customer service skills


Essential Job Functions:

-Oversee and provide warm reception for all staff, visitors and incoming patients, including greeting, registering, conducting new patient orientations, and informing individuals of the dispensary's rules and regulations
-Ensure adherence to patient confidentiality guidelines as provided in employee training
-Ensure dispensary services are accessed only by those with valid Registry Identification Cards.
-Maintain the overall appearance, organization and cleanliness of the department, service counter areas, and public areas
-Communicate regularly with the General Manager to satisfy department staff needs and patient feedback
-Ensure adherence to hygiene and sanitation guidelines
-Strengthen the medical marijuana community and patient collective through developing social networks, updating website text, and providing a forum for education, in-store information and feedback
-Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Put on a suit and take shit from assholes all day? This illustrates a problem with skills demand in this industry, the people that have them already have carved out the lifestyle they want and are well compensated for it. Are there actually people out there with the required skills that would want the dispensary job? I am curious. Not to even mention that Canadian dispensaries are going to be continually raided for the next 2 years or however long legalization takes. As the manager you are cop fodder.

I dunno... i check off all the boxes from a management experience point of view.

My weed experience comes from growing my own meds... 20 years of rec use prior to that.... for a total of 30ish years of a strong relationship to the product...

And move to the coast for the job.

Gotta say to a guy like me thats all pretty attractive... to do the same job im doing now except for doing with a product i love and know inside and out?

I may have to look into this deeper...

Proven: employees that have a significant ownership stake in a company are far more dedicated to the success of that compnay. Less likely to steal...or give out the necessary info to those who would steal...

Good point about the cop fodder...

However, for the right amount of money + legal expenses id do it.
