Why does my plant seem so short and bushy? First time grow is this normal?

Plant is in almost week 4 of veg using dwc with Cyco nutes, (also just started using great white) and x2 300watt mars hydro led lights. Using a bit of LST. But why does it seem so short? And I also seem to be having maybe nute lockout? Maybe? Not sure any advice would be helpful, what should I do or don't do. ( if the pics show up the one in the black bucket is special queen and the other one is amnesia)sorry the leds kind of throw the color off.

Unless you take picture under normal lighting you wont get any help. Lights on make problems undiagnosable.

That's actually perfectly normal. If you had better lighting they'd be a bit taller, but not by a quantum leap. It's when you go into the flower stage that they really get a burst of growth and shoot up pretty damn fast.

How about the yellowing in the leaves, I had some ph problems, could that be it?

It has to be a factor to do with time. And if it is a sativa strain those are prolly because of genetics. Otherwise what growing medium are you using and are they autoflowering or photoperiod. 9Therwise ease up on nutes and give em more time. We all need hope.
Peace and love

Strain in the black bucket is sativa/indict the other is sativa, using hydroton and they are just fem, no auto

Like I said: Wait 'till you switch to 12 on 12 off for flower stage. You'll peek in on them a week later and they'll be double that size.

Using mars hydro make sure light is AT LEAST 24 inches from canopy. The spectrums on many "blurple" lights needs space to "combine" into a single mixed light. I've seen yellowing in between the veins just like on your leaves in pic two from exactly this problem in many people's small tents or room from improper spacing between LEDs and plants.

Suppose it could be something else but they look well to me other than that. Raise your light, or use something that doesn't use multiple individual spectrums and the new growth should, after a little recovery time, be right as rain with better node spacing.

Ps- forgot to mention but don't forget to add a little extra calmag as your using leds.

Best of luck bud!!

Very helpful, thank you,

What are u feeding them and ppm? How far away is your light? Room temps would help as well.
Feeding Cyco platinum notes at 1/2 strength, ppm stays around 300? Is that normal? Temps between 72-78 will be moving lights as they were about 24" above the plants.

Yes. And ignore that crap about keeping those lights at least two feet above your plants. The Mars Hydro 300 is actually only a 130 watt light. It's very, very weak. Even they recommend the light be placed NO HIGHER than 12 to 18 inches above the canopy. The closer, the better. Each Mars Hydro 300 is only good for about a 1.5 square foot area. They're just not very strong lights at all.

Moving the lights up high will make your plants stretch, but they'll be doing that in an act of desperation to reach the light, not because it's healthy growth.

Keep the lights about 12 inches AT THE MOST above the canopy. If you can run them at 8" (if you have good air movement and heat isn't a problem) then do it.

Run a bit of Cal/Mag into your system and that should help as well.

yeah 12-18 inches is what I ran with no burn/led bleaching the light performs better as low as you can get it just stick your hand above the plants as long as your hand doesn't feel too warm you're golden.
