Advice for COB 3'x5' flower room.

What's good everyone!? Just looking for some advice and maybe a COB count for a 3'x5'x6.5' flower room.
I was thinking about running 10 CXB3590 36v (3500k) driven by 2 HLG 320H 1400mah.
I believe this will get me 50.4% PAR watts. But will the PPFD be adequate for the square footage growing plants up to 3.5'?
I'm new to COBs so any advice or corrections will be appreciated!

Ok i keep seeing people pair this driver with 5 x cree 3590 and i looked it up.this driver will power 6 x cree 3590 and if you ran 12 of those cobs in your space it will rock.if you only want to use 10 cobs it will still grow well in the space but you should get the hlg 240-1400 driver that matches 5 x cree better and its cheaper.

Yes you are correct, the 320 will have more room than the 5 cobs require. I was just thinking ahead in case I wanted or needed to expand. But you're right it's like another $80 or so for the two 320s.
I'm just wondering if 10x 3590 @ 1400mah be lacking across 5ft. I was thinking two 4.5ft heatsinks running side by side with some space in between.

Very nice, thank you! Yeah the 1000w hid is pretty much what I'm looking to mimic I suppose for a 5x3. Besides the great efficiency of DIY LED I really like that you can spread everything out to better fit a particular space.
Thanks for the good advice everyone. But one last question. Where would be a good source for PPFD readings for ceritian COBs and other leds?

For some of the more popular COBs you can download these calculators made by a quality member of this forum found on the thread DIY COB calculator ( you need java to run them)

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2s0xo583lw10m29/CitiCalculator.jar?dl=0 Just Citizen COBs

Both are useful to play around with numbers of cobs at different powers in various grow spaces. They give a mass of info.

Wow dude! Thank you very much, I was having trouble finding this kind of info until I joined RIU. Deff follow me if you wanna see how the build turns out. I'm hoping to have it done early Feb. I gotta return a Platinum p900 first.

Nice setup dude! What do you think about mounting the cob holders right on a long extruded heatsink, and hanging two side by side? It seems like the cheaper option opposed to getting a sink for each cob and a rail system. But I guess with the rails you can move everything around easier.
both work. check out his rows and you will see he uses both. I use both also. I like the flat USA heatsisnks painted black and i can add additional 3w leds around the cob's like this.

Very nice! So maybe getting the HLG 320s might be good if I wanna add some colored 3w. I still don't know how effective adding colored lights are. I'm seeing crazy beautiful results from people using 3000/3500k cobs alone.
Thanks for the help everyone! I was told RIU was the best on the web and you guys are deff spreading the good word!

Hit me up I've got COB heat sink package. I used to use those 10"x24" sinks in the beginning but it's all about passive sinks now for me.

Nice light!!! @sixstring2112 I just purchased the SST X heatsinks from Robin and have some 72v COB's coming which I will be running @ 1.05a
this is the design i came up with for a 5' x 3.5'. Opinions Please..

Boy thats alot of light in there @ 75w each of those 72v cobs.are you planning a dimmer ?
If it was my setup i would push the cobs closer together like 11in spacing to get them away from the walls a bit more.and also space the bars closer together like 12 inch.you will have awesome coverage either way mine or yours.i just see alot of wasted light on the walls.but i like your setup with 75w along the outside and 50w down the center

Also what do you have for height in this space? You will have no problem growing taller plants in there but keep in mind with the 75w cobs a little wiggle room is nice like 12 in between the cob and cola

Yes I had @robincnn send me a 50ohm Potentiometer which I will use for the 75w rails and dim them down to about 60-65w. My room is actually 11x8, and i have 3 different cycles in the flower room for a steady harvest and rotation.
I seen all the videos by @Growmau5 and decided to sketch something up so I could get options before I start cutting and drilling and shit. so you do think this will cover that space evenly?
Thanks
