Just to be a bit more specific....

When I council people to top feed til the roots get going, I'm not talking about pouring water into the rockwool. I'm talling about pouring it into the hydroten, several times a day to keep the hydroten continually moist. That way the roots will grow out into a moist area and the rockwool can wick whatever moisture it wants from the hydroten. This is why I said a drip ring works so well, the hydroten is always wet, but you're never adding water directly to the rockwoll, so the seedling isn't drowned, and the new roots have plenty of air.

im starting new growth check out the new thread, ill be posting pics soon.

I have done exactly what you have said, and my plant died and his plant is still living so i decided in my case to stop the top feed, and submerge the net pots 0.5 inch into the nutes, then add the pebbles then the rockwool plug, maybe this will work in my case, what do you think ?
I'll just say top feed isn't your issue. Having read this thread i believe you chased ph. Big no no. Small cubes can take 24 were as 4 or 6 inches get a bit grouchy. When there that small just the shadow of a nutrient bottle is all that is required. When ph swings as much as yours did it means root disease.... sorry she passed away on you man...

If also top feed manually by pouring some water onto the hydroton surrounding the rockwool but try not to get the rockwool. This is what's working for me but I'm just a noob. :bigjoint:

Yes that is what I do for the first bit as well. From my second post in your thread:

"Are the roots long enough to hang down into the nutrients? For the first week or so I would keep the water high enough so that the pot is in the water at least a quarter inch or so,"

Just so you know, that picture you showed wasn't root rot. That was fungi growing in the rockwool from the subculture. You probably had a little too much
i just added 1 tea spoon each in the whole tank of 7 Gallons inside, the PH was playing a game with me, up and down, so i have read about same issues with people using Subculture, and i cant put my hands on earth worm casting so no way i can make the tea, i have seen on one of your posts suggesting the use of recharge, so i have ordered some today, hope to get in 7 days, till then ill will not any anything for my little new seedlings,

thank you so much :)

Won't let me comment on that post for some reason
i will check that.

recharge is the same thing as subculture. there is more in recharge, but its not necessary.

if you make a "tea" in my experience the ph swings like normal. one reason the ph may be swinging is that the bennies are feeding on your nutes. having a premade tea will mean they have the food they need. subculture m and b with a tbsp of molasses and an airstone in any salable jug will make the same basic tea. it all comes down to spending money. i dont like too, so i use what i have. i have subculture and it works great.

submerging .5 inches is fine.
