6 COB fixture- All Vero or mix in CREE?

if you want to stick with the Vero theme I have stock of the Vero29SE in 3000k at 90 CRI, if you want some real red punch also have Vero29SE in 1750K but only in the C bin, 69 volt but also have Vero18SE in 1750k in which is 36V.

With the Veros your decision isn't final. Build the light and run it, THEN change a couple COBs in six months to a year.
Prices will go down, but supply is usually limited for selection of CRI.
Depending on how you wired them, they can be replaced as a modular unit.
Yes it's a $25 item but what do you spend on a new nutrient line, or sips containers?

6Bs @ 1050 ~ 50x1.05 52 watts
6ds @ 1400 ~ 36x1.4= 50 watts

According to the data sheet, the Ds @1400 are slightly brighter than the Bs @1050.

Seems like pretty even setups? Just depends if you want to drive @1050 or @1400

I definitely plan on building many more in the future. I just want to make sure I'm doing my research before pulling the trigger on something I'm not going to be happy with

I've come to the conclusion the regular data sheets are wrong, at least for the b versions. The SE data sheets are more accurate.

I was referring to the SE as well. Ds @1400 are 142 lum/watt and Bs are somewhere between 138-140.

@1050, there would be slightly more wattage, but it seems the increase in brightness would be negligible

6.4 sqft 6 Vero29 @ 1400 puts out 900+ PPFD - you'll be plenty happy if you can keep it cool.

I went small - low power - Vero 18 but build what I wanted and since it's so mixed how do I compare?
2x 3000K Vero18 gen7 80CRI
2x 3500K Vero18 80CRI
1x 3000K Vero18 gen7 90CRI
1x 3500K Vero18 90CRI

Side by side the difference can't be seen (hard to measure also) but I can move them around or substitute
new Cobs, even expand up to my power limits. Veros are Versatile since there's holder to mess around with.

You should be. The COB differences do appear to be a wash and you'd only be able to squeeze about 10 or so more watts out of the B setup so no not a big deal. either way youll be happy. The SEs are so nice with the push in connectors

I just nailed down my pretapped heatsinks and driver. Tuesday I will be buying 5 pieces of 36" 3/4x3/4x1/16 aluminum angle and self tapping screws.

If I make my frame 36"x18" and run horizontal supports instead of vertical supports, I will only have to make one cut.
I should be able to clamp all 4 horizontal pieces together and predrill the holes to attach the heatsinks and frame together.

This combined with the ease of wiring and mounting the SE should contribute to one of the cheapest and easiest DIY builds yet.

I'm going to try and be patient and do a build thread. We will see

I have a decent exhaust setup. Nothing huge, but I'm running a basic Mars Hydro 600 (260w at the wall) that seems to run pretty hot with no problems.

I can upgrade the exhaust fan If necessary and even add a fan for the cool air intake.

Hopefully I don't need to add anything with the heatsinks I've purchased and a fan blowing across the fixture.
