I get seeds each grow. Help!

Hello all. I have been reading for years and learning as much as I can being newer to the garden scene. I have read over and over its trial and error and I must put in the work and gain that experience. I have had some pretty good results each winter felt for the last 2. I grow a few every winter to stock me up for the year. It's what I look forward to doing every night I get home from work. But I am now being deflated and losing motivation. K have never posted here before. With a 5 min search in the forum's some really smart guys have already typed up what I needed. So many of you have helped me without even knowing it. Thanks.

I have hit the wall. I got seeds in my flowers the last 2 winters and it sucks so bad. So bad I decided to post and take a risk. I have. 4x8 tent with 2 600 Hps. Inlet and outlet fans. Glass and venting for the lights. I had to tweak it and get the proper upgrades but I can now say....Finally. I have a good set up for my needs. I have a small tent for veg time. Temps in both hover at 78 80. I never keep a male. Ever. I actually put them in a separate area to determine sex before they even get into flower tent. I don't know how the hell this is happening or how to correct it. I have searched all I could with keywords and I can't find someone else that has had this issue.

I have to find out what I messed up. If anyone can help me that would be stellar. I'm old and fat now and this is the only hobby I really enjoy. Thanks for reading.

The area you sex your plants in; has any MALE flower EVER released ANY pollen? If your plants are pre-flowering(showing any pistils/hairs) and in the same room where there might have been pollen released at ANY time, they risk being pollinated.

Is the venting from your sex tent connected to your flowering tent? In other words is it possible that some of that pollen is makin it's way to your flower room? Remeber that if there is nothing filtering the air entering your flower tent and there is a possibility that pollen ever got out of your sexing tent, you may inadvertently be introducing pollen into your flower room.

More than likely though you might have some hermie traits in your plants. How long do you flower you plants for? Have you seen any "banannas"? Like this?

if your being careful with the males and killing them as soon as you know their sex, that is not your problem
if your day and night time temps are ok 65f-75f ish, your humidity is ok 50 ish and your feed temps are around 68f, so you dont shock them, enviroment isn't your problem.
so that leaves genetics, are you growing a strain that is prone to going hermie, unstable genetics, might be worth trying a different strain or seed bank
were the 2 grows that went seedy the same strain ?

If he still had traces of pollen on his wall from a previous grow, it would most likely not be viable.

Check for light leaks and timer issues. You might have light coming in your duct or some place else. I have that same "problem", but it's in my veg tent so it's not an issue. If that's the case, two elbows and maybe a booster fan will remedy that.

Do you visit other people's grows while yours is going? You could be bringing home pollen on your clothes. That's more of a long shot though. If I were putting money on it, I would say it is a light issue.

Thanks for the picture. Yes I have seen a few of those last year but I cut the whole bud off. I came to this site to research them and from what I read if I caught them quick enough I should of been good. Last year's seeded flowers I wrote off due to that. But 2 years in a row floored me.

And yes. My venting is connected. I use a total of 4 fans. One inlet for fresh air that is filtered coming in, one outlet that is filtered at the end of a 25 ft run with a fan on high (it's connected to veg tent and flower tent), one for my glass lights, and a little fan for veg tent inlet. I flower till I see all cloudy trichs on top cola bud. I have had a few done in 56 days and some that went 80.

I'm changing the fan set up today so each tent has its own outlet run. Man that has me thinking. I run that sucker on high and never thought it could get in there. Shit!

Thanks for taking time to help me out. I shoot for 78 degrees in flower tent. Some days it hit 83 as a high when weather is a factor but it's not often. Humidity I can get from 40 to 50 on average. I have a humidifier in the tent as of this year. My lowest temp has been 62 at night. I got from amazon 4 white temp/there.ometers that all go to one unit I can watch all environments and see high low and Rh. For me it was a great investment. I usually do 4 to 8 plants. Usually do 4 different strains at a time. Can I ask where you get your seeds from? I need to do another grow. I have sorted seeds for a whole year out of my buds. The time it takes is just silly. I used a place called nirvana.

Can you explain feed temp? I have not seen that term before. I have read a few guys saying feed them with a min of 4 hours of light left. But temps at feed time is new to me. Thanks!

Lights and timers are perfect. No leaks at all. I did use elbows from where I get fresh air from. I don't know anyone else that grows. Just all of you guys.

Can anyone tell me a good procedure for cleaning a tent? If those nanners can pollenate at anytime then I think that may be the cause. I was under the impression if I caught it as soon as I saw them I'd be good. I sweep and shop vac my tent before my female plants go into flower. I have been afaid to use bleach or any chemical. I never shop vacuumed my walls. Sigh.

In my experience, I have never seen a male plant split open its flowers the day it is sexed, so you aren't getting pollen from the males you are separating.

Also, a female will not be growing nanners until the stress that causes them is applied or they are unstable stains or they are too old.

For those reasons, I doubt it was pollen being sucked in from your veg room or transition room, but if you need a good product to clean with I would recommend a wet rag. Pollen dies when it comes into contact with water, and also dies when it is exposed to normal vegging humidity for over a week or so.

Your veg tent is inline with your flower tent? Is there light coming through the ducting run? Have you looked at them when it is lights off (not to like poke and prod them and what not, just to see if that is an issue)?

check out great lake genetics, get some bodhi seeds and get rid of those hermies, you can't see every nanner and it just takes a little pollen to make a ton of seeds.

I'm just going to eliminate that t I have connecting the 2 tents and get a separate fan and filter for veg. If any light is getting in there it's got to be minimal. I have opened the tent at night and smoked. I don't see anything getting in there. I use a green light when I open it up at night. At this point I'm taking everything everyone says seriously and just going to adjust. Thanks for the tip using water to kill pollen. I never knew that.

I'm going to research that right now. I try to avoid having flower tent going after may. The heat battle has cause me great stress over the years. That's the reason why I do just one maybe 2 grows over winter. I don't have any seeds left that I trust. So I'm starting from scratch again. I thought it may be the seeds I bought so I threw out my 5 plants in the veg tent last week.

Wow that's a list. How do I find out what type of smoke it is? The names are cool. So far our favorite strain has been Cinderella 99. I'd like something like that. I just don't know how to go about finding that type of high. I did not see that strain in his list. Or maybe someone can refer me to a place that has Cinderella 99 from another place I can buy them from? I have been reading about genetics. And I am thinking I may have some seeds that have very poor DNA. Another thing I never considered. I guess my mindset was a seed is a seed. I always thought the harvest and curing was the most important part. Now I'm thinking getting right DNA is. Thanks for the link my friend.
