I will be building my fixture in a week or so. I will definitely have enough cobs to cover my space very well. After checking out this Amare thread, I am curious how important the additional 20 Cree xlamps and 105 blue/red/IR LEDs are in the overall setup.
I was also trying to do some research on those X lamps they also have some in full spectrum for Horticulture uses.
First grows can be tough .... There is a learning curve.
I am going to contact my friend at rapidled again. He has a few different far red and royal blue supplemental kits. 2' and 4' with heat sink included. He also has the xlamps available. I'd love to mimic this Amare with my diy setup.
The cree's in the Amare put out 2 1/2 times the light per watt than a mars. They are also soldered to the aluminum circuit board on the mars making them useless if you tried to remove them.
Hybrid has said before that it would be cheaper to buy an amare light than replicate the spectrum with all the top bin components
maybe not replicate, but get close. $1900 is a lot of $$
Very first led grow. Did a bunch of things wrong. Can't say a SE-450 doesn't cover a 4'x4' though. That's for sure.
For sure. It's been proven time n time again.
I use nematodes/beneficial mites and haven't had any issues with pests. But idk if either of those would help with mites
I hope I don't roast any of mine! Even if it weren't 20 xl2 and 105 5w diodes, would it still be beneficial to add a few strips of these various chips, or would the results be neglibile for the amount of time and aggravation it will take to mount and wire all of them
We might even find something better!
