You can always DIY but you need the resources (knowledge, equipment (most is DIY), time) and after that... "just" a market...

I honestly don't know. I never heard of these numbers before. I'm just guessing. People in Oregon(Portland) are really into two things: cannabis and food. I imagine that a savvy greenhouse could strike up some kind of deal for organic cannabis leaves for some kind of price...but not sure about the 100 per lb.
Sounds like it to me. My plants always have way more bud weight then trim weight
Just wondering, are you a new grower and if not, what have you been doing with your trim from previous harvests. I guess I don't understand any grower not knowing about trim.
Make you some bubble or at least some dry ice hash. It's pretty easy. Hell, 4 ounces of good sugar trim and a pound of unsalted butter will make about 6 dozen cookies that will sit you on your ass. Or you can throw it away, lol.
You can make canna butter from fan leaves. Strongest edibles I've had came from butter made with only fan leaves. Tbh though it's not worth the effort when you have access to quality trim. But for people trying to squeeze every use out of the plant you can't definitely make butter from fan leaves only
