Lens discoloring my heat sinks

Probably causes more heat to be retained because no air flow behind the lens. I took the sheet of glass off of my high bay because of that. It makes it waterproof but keeps a lot of heat in. Maybe you need some nice fresnel lenses hung a couple inches below the COBs. Something like this. They're not that cheap though I guess, though those ones are glass.

Dawg, I had discoloration on some cutter sinks,no lenses. Was told by mark it was something atmospheric causing it. Not sure about that as all of my other sinks in the same environment aren't affected. I was assured thermal management properties weren't affected tho. Not sure about that either as I thought the anonization process was part of the thermal management
Here are a cple. pics of mine.

I just noticed the same discoloration on one of my Cutter heat sinks a couple days ago. I'm not worried about as the heat produced is minimal to begin with, but will keep an eye on it. Only 1 of the 4 are discolored and it was one of the end lights. Only one grow on that panel, but was very happy with it.

Well Brother I Sealed My Heat Sink Up After Someone Posted The Amount Of Bugs Found In His Lens After 1 Grow. So Mine Were Sealed And No Atmospheric Conditions Existed. I'm Now Believing That It Is A Shitty Chinese Heat Sink. What Funny Is I Have A 60 Watt Cxb 3590 That Has A Khatod Lens On It And Its Seems To Be Fine With No Apparent Discoloration. So It Looks Like We Got Some Heat Sinks Made On Saturday After Lunch :hump:

Cheap anodize dye?
Probably heat + light intensity?
That being said, one of my heatsink is like that because it was next to a metal halide. The entire side of it changed to that color. It wasn't even close enough to cause it to heat up. So in my case it was likely the heat source.
