Nature's answer Ann Arbor and getting cert without records..

Hello all.

I recently moved to MI. I was wondering if anyone has been to Natures Answer in Ann Arbor for their certification? It seems to have the best reviews.

Problem is I have not seen a doctor for my pain and was wondering if this place or any others will give the cert without medical records. I have been pretty broke and am a "tough it out" kind of guy but I wish now that I had seen a doctor. I also read up on first natural wellness which doesn't have the best reviews but has mentioned not needing records to at least get looked at.

Ill be driving 2 hours from southwest Michigan so I was hoping to not waste a whole trip just to get turned around. Southwest "michiana" area doesn't seem to have many places I could find to get certified without records..

Any help is appreciated !

If the law states that are these places technically breaking it then? Because I called two places and one said it shouldn't be an issue and the other says it will "probably" be ok as long as I qualify after seeing the doc..

That law was passed last yr.tour mj doc may "qualify you", but when you send in paperwork to the state and no med records are in the envelope, denied!

medical records are not included in the envelope. Only the certifying doctor needs to complete. Most require you to also have a recent doctor relationship for their review. the real issue comes when op is arrested for some bullshit, tries to beat it in court, and the circus doctors dont show up to testify, because they have no documentation to present qualifying the patient...... legitimate doctors will show up with everything they need.

That's what I thought. Thanks for clearing that up. That isa concern that they would not hold up in court.

Mi law states you must have proper documentation from your primary care Dr. Then bring that to your mj doc to review it.
While this might be the practical case (for those that don't have a primary that will certify), it's not the law at all. Patient/doc relationship, qualifying condition, and fill out the forms properly (patient fills out page 1, doc gets page 2, send copy of Id and check/money order).

Safe practice indicates a doctor will want something with a verifiable diagnosis. Xray, CT, mri, pathology, eeg, whatever. Pain is tough. sometimes it shows on a xray, CT, or mri. Other times its caused by autoimmune, chronic infection, or undetectable nerve damage. Doctors in this case can make a note of chronic pain, but they much prefer to have the pain connected to a verifiable condition. With that said, my first certification was done with a chiropractor note, a few notes from other doctors on pain. It wasn't until later that we discovered my pain was caused by nerve damage.

I'd suggest you start keeping a pain log or find the one you've been keeping for the last few years ;). The next step might be you stop in at a walk-in clinic when the pain is at its worst or when you hurt yourself. I'd think at a minimum though, a cert doc would make you come for multiple visits if you start from zero. Good luck!

I don't know anyone who was denied for not having medical records. I don't even know anyone who has been denied for any medical reason actually lol.

The only thing that will get you denied is not sending the proper amount of money to the state, happened to someone I know and all they said was send the rest of the money and we'll send your card.

The place I go to wants your medical diagnostic forms before they'll issue a card. I had to go to my dr, get xrays and then go to medical records and fill out a request. That whole process took the hospital about a month to get me the proper documents to show my certification center.

Yeah I found a place that certified me without issue but recommended I go visit a doctor in case I am arrested to cover both our asses. I will probably do that just to be on the safe side.
