I understand they are in soil now with tails established and agree, 3 days should have done it.
Unless I was in a hurry with plenty of seed, I would give 'em a bit longer.

I fear you are correct my friend. I will give them 2 more days. I pumped up the humidity to almost 70 and have the temp running just below 80. Hopefully they take hold

I have had really good success by putting clear, plastic kitchen wrap over the container, poke 4-5 holes in it and put a light on it so the heat creates moisture from the soil on the plastic wrap. (may be too late for those tho)

I bet there are just about to pop out You could inspect one though. I inspected mine 6 days in as 3 of 4 had sprouted. I saw it was going and tossed a little dirt on top like 1/4 inch of dirt just to covered it. A day later it popped out. I could have just waited and all would have been fine, I just put that one too deep it also had only .5mm of tap root when I planted it.
I say cover the pot with some wrap or a baggie and keep the temps high. I kept mine at 75+ till they popped up.
I soaked 5 beans for 24 hours three had taproot 2 mm -3mm long. One had a tap root about .5mm long just popping out the seed. The three with long tap roots came up within 72 hours. The other one took 4 days longer and I uncovered it.
I think soaking for 24 hours just to get the seed to crack and start the taproot is the best method. One of my seeds didn't crack I wish I left it in the water it still hasn't popped up.
To the person saying don't soak fresh seeds. Seeds you buy should be cured just like your weed. If they sell you seeds that aren't dry you won't get good germ rates as they are too fresh.
I can see where people are coming from with just put them in dirt as not too disturb the root though. Also the seed I uncovered is looking great the best one out of the bunch. Think it's growing at a slightly faster rate also.

One of my seeds took 6 days to pop out of the surface granted I didn't have good tap root on that just a tiny one and I planted it too deep. Maybe he planted them too deep?
He should inspect one I don't think it will hurt.

I still prefer paper towels. Once they pop or have a small root you cannot touch the root at all. I take each seed as it pops drop it into a hole i make with a nail or drill bit or a stem. I use wet soil and drop the seed in root down. If it goes crooked while dropping it I straighten it up with a utensil of some sort. The baby seeds are so delicate that I drop them in so the seed, regardless of the root length, is just at the surface but under wetted soil. I take water in a spray bottle and slowly wet around the seed so the dirt fills in around it without possibly hurting the delicate root by pushing soil up against it. They all come up this way. When I transplant the clones i make I do the same thing. I take a small pot, wet the soil, and then create a hole the same size as the little cloning things i make of old MMJ jars. I tip the pot sideways after knocking the clone and soil out of it's container with something heavy so the root and clump of soil stay together. If the dirt on a seedling or clone/cutting breaks free upon transplanting attempt then the plant dies because the end of the main root/roots breaks off. I don't sprout straight into dirt if I have expensive seeds because they take too long to sprout, you can't see them, they dry out too easy, and then fail to sprout. I failed $200 worth last year sprouting in the dirt. It was my fault. They were all expensive seeds. Not one popped. I hadn't been able to grow for two years and it was hecka disappointing. Like i forgot how to grow when i got divorced. The court said i was not allowed! No grow, no use, no possess. I ignored it but i could not grow. You can't grow in a rental in the SF Bay Area anymore. It's banned in rental agreements.

@frankslan Usually within 48-72 hours, but up to 6-7 days sometimes. I germinate in jiffy pellets, in the dome they come in (though i just buy the pellet refills) with a electric blanket on low underneath which keeps em around 75-80f, then I use soil, promix high porosity with added vermiculite and some sand.

I've had seeds pop as late as 22 days when 15 other seeds of the same strain all popped in 1-5 days. Homegrown seeds I use are mostly TGA x TGA, Clone-only x TGA, or other crosses I made of The Purps IBL, Chemdawg IV IBL, and a Durban Poison IBL I've kept going since 2004 from MMJ weed seeds found in one jar of bud. Not good alone, only good in crosses.

thats the way man! Its hard to wait sometimes I get antsy too haha, especially when its a strain I love and I only have one bean or something haha. But just go burn one or do a dab and relax, the seed will come out and play when its ready.
Ever since Ive switched to this new method I have not lost a single seed, and I used to lose one every so often before. Sometimes I would lose a few at a time, other times I wouldnt lose any; but with my new method its been 100% and Ive been sprouting a plenty

I love how there's still a million ways to do this. I say, do what works best for you. If a method everyone uses isn't working for you, try another. From everything I've seen here, there's no 1 way to do anything.
