Trump's first military raid: "Almost everything went wrong". 2 Americans dead

I don't know about that. This regime staggers about in mysterious ways.
We'll see. I have a feeling that Bannon doesn't take Jared seriously, and I think that Jared's ego can't handle that. This will lead to a confrontation, and neither of them are people who play fair, but I think Bannon will lose because he underestimates Jared. Bannon may have the experience but he is nowhere near as smart, and he is much more dispensable on a personal level. Bannon can turn the whole cabinet against Jared and still lose the war when Jared turns the whole Trump family against Bannon, which is something he could do with relatively little effort. Manipulating Trump is a game he has mastered.

The only thing that "failed" in this mission is that it was leaked.

That this young man died in service to his country is indeed a tragedy and life changing event for his family who must go on now with out him. We mourn with them and pray for them.

Do not call this a "failed" mission though and dishonor his service or memory. None of us were there and none of us will ever know what really happened.

That this young girl died is a tragedy as well. Children can not choose their parents or guardians and now this young American girl will never have a chance to realize her potential. We mourn with her family and pray for them as well.

I have not seen any one in this thread make the link and ask the obvious questions using the information we have from various media sources. Or maybe you choose not to?

What was an 8yr old American Citizen doing in a fortified terrorist base in Yemen.

Who facilitated her being there? Were they American Citizens as well or refugee visa holders who came to America and had a child that is now an American Citizen and now 8yrs later they are back visiting Uncle Bob in Yemen at the family "fortified terrorist base" on holiday.

Was this the reason for the fast roll out of the temporary travel ban and detainment of adults and children and not quite the debacle suggested? Were their actions based on "real time" intell and that is the reason for its hasty implementation?

I may or may not trust Trump, but I do trust Generals Mattis, Kelly, and Flynn, they at least know our enemy, do you?
Wow. What pretzeled asshole did you pull that 'logic' out of?

Can't say bad to the president cuz flags and stuff!

No he got someone killed for nothing.

Scratch that. 14 people, because the non combatants on the ground paid just as high a price, whether they were Americans or not. And they matter just as much.

Why don't flag waving pall bearers ever seem to get that?

I got 34 minutes into this before concluding that it's just more partisan bullshit.
How many times did that dumb bitch say Trump was smart?
How many times did she say Trump surrounds himself with "quality people"?
The person who has been brainwashed is you. :dunce:

this was a completely failed mission.

obama rejected it. trump decided without any input from military commanders to go ahead with it. he put steve bannon, a neo-nazi publicist, and jared kushner, a 30-something real estate developer whose daddy went to prison for fraud and theft, in charge of it.

trump then decided to angrily tweet at the new york times, whose readership is now at record levels, before going to bed.

every single aspect of this raid was disastrous failure that resulted in the needless death of a brave american navy seal.
UncleBuck, I respect you and your right to have an opinion, even if it is willfully ignorant in this case. You at least ask the right questions, in that respect you are just like Steve Bannon, and unfortunately, just like him your conclusions are often way outside the 10 ring.

On a side note, why mention Jared's age, job or father? Is Jared responsible for his fathers decisions or is each responsible for his own actions? You could have just left it at Jared Kushner, but chose age discrimination and his former job to profile him into the category you want.

I respectfully say to you, you were not there, you have no idea what was or was not recovered, for that matter neither was I, which is why I said "do not say it was a failure" just as I have not said it was a success. I said "do not dishonor his memory by calling it a failure". Each of us has his or her own opinions of what success is based on what "we" believe and our placement of value on what was or was not recovered. The only opinion of success or failure that really matters is that of the members of the "Team" that went in and made it out. They are the only ones that can make any "real" determination of success based on the mission and its results. We (all of us) will never have all the facts due to the classified nature of the mission. .

Wow. What pretzeled asshole did you pull that 'logic' out of?

You have no idea what I say about the President, very assumptive on your part and I do not associate Duty, Honor, and Code with nothing. The only people who can determine whether the mission was for something or nothing are the other members of the "Team". Until we hear from them and their opinion, being the only ones who have actual factual knowledge, saying that the mission was a failure dishonors this young mans' sacrifice. Why not say instead "in my opinion it was a failure"? Then all who read "your opinion" will know that you are basing what you are saying on the facts you have? There are always 3 truths to any situation, one sides truth, the other sides truth, and the real truth. The only people who know the real truth are the ones who were there. Without knowing the real truth you dishonor his memory by saying the mission was a failure. I have not said the mission was a success because, I do not know the real truth either. I asked that we not dishonor this young mans' service or sacrifice by calling it a failure without knowing what really happened.

To assume that I think that the other people who lost their lives do not matter and that ANY loss of life is not indeed a tragedy is frankly offensive. To try and profile me into some category that does not place value on all life through the use of inferred bigotry is a cheap shot to delegitimize the real questions everyone should be asking.

How and why was an 8yr old American Citizen in a fortified terrorist base in Yemen? Who are her Parents or Guardians that thought it was a good idea to be in that fortified terrorist base in Yemen and take her with them? These are the "real" questions.

Of course, from previous posts I have read from you two, in my opinion, you will not be able to understand what that really means or chose to willfully disregard the obvious answers. Either way, I know what's coming next. I have read Rules for Radicals as well. Pimping is easy.

So you would rather purposefully ignore the background of Bannon and Kushner? Context matters, and the context is that Trump had these two fascist crooks calling the shots.

So how do you feel about Benghazi? See, these same dumb fucks that are claiming success now ran 8 congressional investigations on Benghazi for 6 years wasting tons of time and money that could have been spent on other things. They obstructed and manufactured controversy for 8 years to prevent any success during Obama's administration so that later they could point the finger. Their partisan political bullshit is what we are calling out.

Forgetting that Trump made the decision for the raid with only political advisers in the room? Forgetting that just weeks before, this same exact raid had been reviewed and quashed after reviews with military and intelligence advisers by Obama? Forgetting that 40 people died in the raid, few of whom were enemies to the US? Forgetting that this kind of action is a recruiting bonanza to Al Queda? No intelligence in this decision, none from intelligence agencies, military personnel or the people at the top.

because his father is a sleazebag criminal who taught jared his scumbag, slumlord ways. and jared is a completely inexperienced child who was somehow picked by the orange rapist to lead a goddamn military raid without even the advice of the generals.

kinda played a huge role in getting this American navy seal needlessly killed.

I have not purposefully ignored anything in their respective backgrounds. I did not say that I agree or disagree with either of them and what I know of their beliefs. Obama went through a number of cabinet positions during his tenure, who is to say, beyond Trump himself, why they are "really" there and how long they will serve in his cabinet. To say that either of the two have the power to be "calling the shots" is delusional. There is only ONE person who has National Command Authority and neither of them are it. The Military would take great pleasure, and I derive great security, from the fact that they would inform them both of this with little to no respect as they told them no.

How do I feel about Benghazi? I feel it is a sad commentary on the state of our country. I say that because a man was arrested without charge, detained without due process, and incarcerated for a number of years because he made a video exercising his right to free speech to cover up a tragic loss of life. Neither party chose to recognize this or if they did, they chose not to do anything about it beyond using him to further their own agenda and narrative while he sat in a cell. I did not go through the list of pardons President Obama made to see if he was on the list, but since he was never charged he may not have been pardoned. If he has been freed I hope it was with more than a "sorry about that incarceration thing, we good"?

Forgetting that Trump made the decision for the raid with only political advisers in the room? Forgetting that just weeks before, this same exact raid had been reviewed and quashed after reviews with military and intelligence advisers by Obama? No intelligence in this decision, none from intelligence agencies, military personnel or the people at the top.
How do you know who advised Trump on this decision? You may know who was in the room at the time the order was given, but you do not know who was conferenced in through video and phone to give him counsel on this decision as well or who else he may have sought out before reaching a conclusion. Until the transcripts of the recordings are declassified it is all supposition on your part. Do you know the exact reasons why Obama decided not to proceed beyond the generic answers that were given? Was it weather, was it circumstances, was it a low chance of capturing prisoners and collecting data? How do you even know whether Trump reached out to Obama to ask him for counsel and the "why" behind him scrubbing the mission? How do you know the "40" were not enemies of the US? They were killed during a raid on a "heavily fortified terrorist base" why were they there? Its hard to mistake what was described by the media as "heavy machine gun fortifications" for Uncle Bob showing off and making some noise while good timing with his AK. Are you not forgetting that just by living and breathing in the "free" world you are a recruiting bonanza for Al Queda? Why not exhibit some intelligence and ask yourself what an 8yr old American Citizen was doing in a heavily fortified terrorist base in Yemen and HOW did she get there? Or do the answers to those questions not fall in line with what you are pushing through supposition and innuendo?

All I asked was that we not dishonor this young mans' service and sacrifice by calling the mission a failure when none of us, with out all the facts, can say one way or another.

UncleBuck using your logic what was an 8yr old female American Citizen learning from her Parents or Guardians in that heavily fortified terrorist base in Yemen. You sound like the alt-right on one of their rants I find it amusing no one else called you out on that, but I will because that is some hard core profiling.
