You're confusing me. I thought you needed a light for a 4x8 flower tent with a 600(bottom of page 3)???

If you need a light for veg, just stick to T5s for now. If you want to learn how to DIY cobs, go to the Indoor Growing forum, then into the LED subforum. Plan on spending some time learning. You'll start to figure it out.

I think for a first grow you're looking good. Some good advice here and note the clean even canopy on other growers photos. A nice even canopy is the difference between a novice and a professional.
As to the harvest time...you're still looking at near a month...when the leaves begin to turn you'll know it's near.

Sorry Johnny..I actually have two rooms now..I totally forgot to mention that ( just got shatter after going weeks without and slightly forgetful today) ;) appreciate the knowledge!

I was going to add in the middle of my 8x4ft t5 mix spectrum table and 600 watt hps I have in an 8 x 8 x 4 tent to cover the middle where I'm missing.

Nice, I pulled some good weight with just one of those awhile back. Of course you will be bashed for not going with the most expensive COB setup but Mars will work.

They will work but they have an extremely high failure rate, gets very hot and the fans are usually noisy as hell, assuming the fans still work after a month. LED is still a game of you get what you pay for. If you are handy enough to DIY a frame putting together your own kit and mounting it is a no brainer.

No, I'm acting as if he's asking for advice. This is the noobs section. And no, that light is outdated shit on a stick. I've grown with just about every type of light on the market, and blurples are garbage. Low watt(1-3w) blurples are good for those on a budget with height restrictions. That's it. Mars lights are junk.

Yeah, who would want to invest a few more bucks into a much better light, that will offer better results, that doesn't have a reputation for failing and starting fires, and that will last for years? That guy would be crazy, right?

One thing I'd like to clarify.. Are you 7 weeks from the first signs of flower? Or 7 weeks from the day you picked up the clones?

To be honest, with your setup I don't see why you shouldn't pull 3 ounces.

As mentioned... Hang onto that 250. They are awesome to have around. Even with a 150 you can grow great weed. a 250 should rock one plant.

Johnny you were more than helpful and saved me from buying that ridiculous one yesterday!..I only needed a middle light for the 2 ft light gap between my 600 and t5 8 bulb table so I grabbed this one after seeing one at local shop.. its definiyely louder than other models they had but had enough light coverage for the gap.. but I found a nice cree I'll be using in a 6 x 4 grow shelf for budding some shorter plants I'm trying from a friends clones of some trainwreck to learn how top use the cree.. And I had to wait to call the company before i shelled out $400...

Thank you for your knowledge with these less quality kits... your reassurance was right on time and the exact advice i needed after considering that i only really need a couple extra feet of coverage. I'll be trapping you for suggestions down the road! Much props!

That's what I kind of figured considering the cost.. thank you for your honesty as I did buy a cree to try using cob and t5 only for a test flowering run.. I've used mostly 1000watt kits and have too many rooms now to try and keep that game going!

I would have not known to get a cree it you had not suggested such.. the warranty alone makes it worth it! Thanks for being so detailed too.. Saved me time ;)

I used the cheap Chinese 100W COB's at about $2.75 each (six of them), lots of peeps bash them but they work fine, just a little less efficient. I'm using $25, 36Vdc 400W power supply - the dreaded "voltage control" method rather than pricy Meanwell constant current drivers. The warning against that are way overblown, IMO. Its cheap, and it works. If something breaks, I got spares.

At some point I will replace them with $10 Citi 1212's for more efficiency, but these are fine for now.
