silly soil/hydro hybrid

Howdy

So, what if, like, ::hits blunt:: you made a super wet slurry of top notch organic soil and filtered water and ran a huge amount of air through it using a really evenly distributed curtain of air all along a 5 gallon bucket. inherited one of these spider air stones that are meant for DWC, and they do a great job of even surface agitation.
Is that a silly idea?

I mean, I know it's a silly idea. But a lot of silly ideas work out great. Like ice cream cones or socks and flip flops.

that crappy air pump in the video doesnt do it justice, it really bubbles like crazy with a decent air pump- like that scene where pris grabs the egg out of the pot of boiling water in sebastian's apt, except evenly distributed.

Yeah, I was just hoping someone would unexpectedly bust in and say Wait! I've done that and _____!
Lol, I've tried alot of stuff just bc, but that's not one. Sorry. But on a positive note, I can't see a reason why you shouldn't! Lololol

Like growing in compost tea? I guess it would be like that, but a weaker version.
Hydro and soil dont mix, really wet organic stuff for a long time is bad, it will be far from oxygenated even with added air, it has been tried and ended in fail.

Even if it did work i think it would be far to complex to actually grow in...

Yea, Wayne has it dialed in..His kits are pretty cool. I don't really see the benefit because plain old soil works great, but it's a good topic to research.

Seriously, you can bubble water soil and air together and put roots in it? The soil just floats round the roots or somthing?

I really need a link if you got one as sounds like somthing i need to witness with my own 2 eyes.

What the op describes with a soil slurry and the above youtube video by some 'crackpot' called Wayne are two totally different systems. I wouldnt even attempt what Wayne is doing as it looks plain STUPID with no benefits and as for the ops soil slurry curtain of air approach i can only see failure.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Wayne would grow you under the table with his system.

What the op asked was not replicated in Waynes grow, the words 'soil' and 'slurry' should give it away if you havent worked it out yet.

Secondly you saying i have no idea what im talking about is easily replied to by pointing out that Waynes system has never taken off in the face of coco, rockwool, aero or a good soil so pop that in your pipe and smoke it :-)

It's obvious that you're jealous of Wayne's creativity.

I think ive looked at Waynes stuff before, naturally experimenting with growing weed leads you to these obvious cross overs i.e. soil and hydro, organics and synthetics etc etc. Whereas some work better than the sum of their parts i can assure you that Waynes dosent and simply refining one of the mainstream grow mediums would yeild better results. Honestly if i bubbled water through my soil for three months id probably be left with a foul smelling gloopy root killing mess. Wayne wasted his time as other mediums are far advanced off his basic principles.

This and other subject pop up from time to time, rarely do they advance much whilst coco and aero shoot forward faster than i can keep up with, even my local hard ware store is using a coarse coco and coco fibre mix whilst im still in old fashion soil....

I believe it. You aren't as experienced as Wayne. You'll get better though.

Hope this helps.
