Powdery Mildew help!

Hi everyone!


I have a SOG table and have notices some Powdery Mildew on a few leaves...a few small blotches....if I blow I can see the spores flying off....

How should I treat it?

Cut off the leaves?
Remove the affected plants?
Spray them and hope for the best?


I have added fans everywhere now, to increase circulation.
I have added an ozone generator for additional protection.

Any other tips??

Humidity is high, 65% 82F...I cannot lower either...so I am stuck with that for now.

I am in week 5 flower.....

Mist the leaves lightly with a mixture of 3/4 TBS hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water.

Raise/dim the lights, get fan on the to help dry with light breeze

at 5 weeks of flower

not much you can do...

spraying them with anything at this point will likely make it worse if you got fat buds

maybe you could try and avoid the buds getting much water on them

if you have fat colas you could hack a bud off here or there to get air flow

better to lose a few buds than the entire plant

another thing if theyre over crowded thatll male it worse... you could thin the heard

I don't usually encourage fan leaf removal but in your case it might not be a bad option but don't do it all at one time
and do it over a couple weeks so that by week 8 there all gone

You may have to shut down the room at some point and get a fresh start as it will keep propagating. I have dealt with PM in flower a few times with no issues at harvest. I spray daily rotating through Actinovate, H2O2, and Green Cure at first sign of PM.

You can also bud wash at finish ... Had to do that on two recently. No problems with flowers after that , now curing.

I had this happen in my 6th week caught it early and sprayed them with water and peroxide mixture, took about a week of doing this and it got rid of it quickly, be sure you spray the stalks and branches as well anywhere you see it my plants are now in 9th week and look amazing and have had no recurring issues with it

Keep your eye's open, it will likely be back when conditions are right. H2o2 only kills the active outbreak but does not treat the systemic issues your plants now have.

Best of luck whichever methods you use in your approach. Never had great luck fighting it.

I have watched it very very close and have seen none return, i would post a pic of the plant currently that will be harvested this weekend if i was able to upload a photo lol Ive alson not let the humidity get above 45% since finding it has hovered between 30 and 35% most of the time

Mildew spores cannot reproduce in higher temps. You could try keeping your temps at 85-90. During lights out keep it 80 or higher. Some strains however do not grow as good in higher temps is a down side. If you have a res this also is obviously going to make your water warmer so be prepared for that also. I had a couple different winters where I thought it would be a good idea to save money and run the heat much less. Each time had a mildew outbreak. You could also run a sulfur burner. I don't really like them myself but they do help. Don't run one in an apartment building though. Your neighbors might call the fire dept and gas company thinking there is a gas leak from the smell of the sulfur.

There are many DIY spray recipes online.

BTW - the lemon / baking soda mix is the same recipe ( adjusted amounts ) as what i use and others to WASH BUDS at harvest ...... Which cleans off bugs , hair , PM , and other contaminants and makes a smoother smoke.

I just saw this yesterday on a youtube video thought guy was nuts(guess he wasnt it was Jorge Cervantes lol) but he took a large plastic ben and filled it with a cup of hydrogen peroxide and filled it up the rest of way with water and then he submerged his freshly cut branches in this solution and gently moved them around in it for about 60 seconds and washed off powdry mildew then hung them back up with a fan blowing on them to dry them from the bath. So this really works well?

Well harvested today and did the wash it was amazing seeing all the scum come off my buds in those 2 baths the h2o2 and water then i went into the lemon juice and baking soda bath folllowed by 3 rinses of pure water. those buds looked amazing afterwards wish i could post a pic.

You use 1 cup of baking soda and one cup lemon juice in a 5 gallon bucket same with peroxide bath 1 cup to 5 gallon bucket you tube bud washing lots of videos on it and one on powdery mildew that Cervantes does
