I thought so too, but he mentions "white light", which I'm guessing he's referring to HID, not cobs.Warm and cool is what im guessing. Lol
Cree doesn't make panels..horticultural panels from companies like CREE use 5000k white leds with photo red (660nm) LEDs added to improve flowering.
Cree got a 1000w gavita de equivalent prototype panel I would sell a nut for.. uses a couple meanwell 320'sCree doesn't make panels.

The most beautiful thing I ever saw.
very similar to what NASA is currently using. cree uses 4000k white while NASA uses 5000k white. both lack UV and 400-435nm light
i was thinking about building a 25% model of this and seeing if it works. But full cost worked out to be around 800 usd so 200 for my scaled down version. Too much for me to test. During my searching the opulent north america modules caught my eye so i may go that way. Heat sink, module with cree xhp leds, and lens for around 100 usd per 100w. Everything is predrilled and the heatsinks lock together for adding on... .drivers not included.
have you looked into these http://www.digikey.com/en/product-highlight/b/bridgelux/eb-series-modulesi was thinking about building a 25% model of this and seeing if it works. My bad for not being more specific, I'm talking about an e27 LED light... it's not just spectrum color, it's the kind that is blue and red visible to the human eye.. I just bought it online and when I plugged it in, it just seemed like the regular white lights I have on just cancel the red/blue colored lights out..what kind of light are you talking about?LED or fluorescent? with LEDs many people add deep red to white LEDs for a better spectrum. with florescent cool white is used for vegging and then warm white is added to shift the spectrum during flowering.horticultural panels from companies like CREE use 5000k white leds with photo red (660nm) LEDs added to improve flowering.
Its fine to mix them. It won't cancel out.My bad for not being more specific, I'm talking about an e27 LED light... it's not just spectrum color, it's the kind that is blue and red visible to the human eye.. I was basically asking if it's ok to mix these different types of light...
I kno this is more than likely a dumb question but I just wanna make sure. This is my second Grow ever and it's my first Auto(white widow) so I wanna get it right ya kno?
Thx guys
is this the kind of bulb your talking about ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Plant-Lamp-Hydroponic-Grow-E27-12W-Light-Bulb-For-Garden-Greenhouse-OE/112216772370?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=2&asc=41375&meid=188c909af9fd4e6bb0ec0d683b59cd3c&pid=100005&rk=6&rkt=6&sd=272354686419 mixing these with white LED bulbs should work fineMy bad for not being more specific, I'm talking about an e27 LED light... it's not just spectrum color, it's the kind that is blue and red visible to the human eye.. Those look like they have potential too, and good efficiency.have you looked into these http://www.digikey.com/en/product-highlight/b/bridgelux/eb-series-modules
Those things are a waste of money. I mentioned that at the beginning of the thread.is this the kind of bulb your talking about ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Plant-Lamp-Hydroponic-Grow-E27-12W-Light-Bulb-For-Garden-Greenhouse-OE/112216772370?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=2&asc=41375&meid=188c909af9fd4e6bb0ec0d683b59cd3c&pid=100005&rk=6&rkt=6&sd=272354686419 mixing these with white LED bulbs should work fine
Wasting money and will they work are two different things. They would help fill in the spectrum missing from the straight white led bulbs. Those things are a waste of money. I mentioned that at the beginning of the thread.
