I'm voting <2 years or landslided out in 2020. If he's gonna do anything bad enough to actually get kicked out it will happen in under 2 years. Otherwise, I just see him losing by a YUUUGE margin in 2020 if the dems put up a competent opponent.

Barranquilla, Colombia. I agree though Brazil is great. For the past week it has been Cumbia blasting on the streets to like 4am. I can't even brush my teeth without shaking my ass. I go out with my camera and people demand their picture taken. The dancers are incredibly fine. Smoking herb on the street in front of cops who are dancing too. Men outnumbered by women who are looking for someone to dance with. Cleaning crews come out to clean up between 4am and 8am when it starts right back up. Street vendors with amazing flavors. It just officially started today and I have it on good intel this is bigger than Rio's carnaval for the past few years.

idk, i have more hard feelings towards the dnc for pushing a candidate that they knew had some of the lowest approval ratings down our throats instead of being pissed at bernie babies..
hopefully the dnc has learned from it's ways, and they put forward someone the majority of people can get behind, or they face another loss in 4 years, and who will we be mad at then?

Next year I will do Carnaval in Rio, but even if it is better as most people say, I can't imagine having a better experience. I don't speak Portuguese and I don't know many Brazilians. On the other hand, I have a bunch of Colombian friends and Spanish is my first language. The crowd tonight at Noche de Tambo was insane. Plaza de La Paz was the venue and it was arranged in concentric circles (tubular alloy barricades) with the stage in the middle, the dance area surrounding it and on the outside of the outer ring was just about a couple million Colombians dancing to Cumbia. It's still going strong, but I was starting to make old man noises by eleven from back pain. The dance area was flowing counter clockwise and I talked my way into the stage area so I had an awesome vantage for photos with the stage as backlight.

A couple of drunk chicas followed me up to my room and knocked on my door and told me "la noche no ha terminado, vuelve a bailar." So now I have Daniela in my room and she's snoring. I hope Batalla de Flores is as much fun tomorrow night.

While I wish this were true, there's no mechanism for it. The Republicans won't impeach him and they are running the show for the next two years.
