Idk what is wrong with the fan, but it is having problems in the speed controller department. Sometimes it runs normally, then other times it runs at like 10% capacity, and then sometimes it runs like a sine wave and the speed goes up and down. Pretty weird.

what happens if you unplug the controller, stays steady? a DC motor should be optimal for "dimming",

also check it without filter, some grumblings on the web over faulty hyperfan not handling restrictions well and pulsing. 5yr warranty, exchange it

it's steady sometimes, and other times not. it doesn't even run at 100% if I unplug the controller, so idk what it is. But, I can't really exchange it....I'd have to buy another one and then exchange it, and then return the one I bought.....can't really go without the fan. i was going to buy one and give it one more try, otherwise I'll have to rework things and put the TD Silent in there.
