You could possibly use sodium hydroxide (lye will be this or potassium hydroxide) which is available at pretty much any hardware store (if you have one).PH Down is pretty easy to make but is anyone making their own PH Up? I don't really like the idea of baking soda (it works in a pinch) but not sure who locally would carry Potassium Hydroxide.

Kool concept, but all new growth with be NL. You're gonna have to do a lot of selective pruning to keep new growth separated from grafted growth.
What makes you think the gentetic material of the parent plant will pass to the scion? Why doesn't this happen with Apple or citrus? All growth after the graft point will be c4. Everything below will be NL.
That what I meant, AND every donor branch before the graft...close to the meristem. Basically every part of the plant before the graft will remain NL.
That's the intent. Graft a bunch of scions onto a strong rootball. Every plant I can get to take means one less mother using up my plant count.
