Hello guys, new girl into growing!

Hey everyone! Been lurking for a few weeks to learn and just got my baby plants yesterday! I'm in Maine, and now that weed is legal (since January) I found my nearest seed bank and brought home some little clones. I have: Cotton Candy, Super Silver Haze 1, and a Longbottom leaf.

My little ones are under a big CFL bulb, near an east facing window for their veg out stage, with 24/0 light. Later, they will be moved to a larger area for 12/12. They seem happy. The biggest of the bunch has six nodes and I pinched her little top to fim. I'm no stranger to growing plants like tomatoes, and oddly, I find these little Mary Jane's to be somewhat similar in needs.

Just thought it show my Littles, and keep an diary of my newb adventures!

They look good! Welcome!

Unlike most around here, you've grown plants before! So I'll skip the "learn to grow it" stuff. It's a plant!
Are you growing in soil? This is my medium of choice. I started using FFOF soil and their line of nutes. Worked. Went more the organic route and have been much happier.

Lots of good info here and no shortage of BS. But I have a feeling you'll be able to sort through it.
The joy of growing your own is very fulfilling, I look forward to watching your journey!

Thank you! Yes they are growing in soil, a very nice and airy mix of compost, coco coir, perlite, a bit of mulch.

Welcome! A bit of advice on bugs, many clones come with them. check your plants carefully now and every week. if you are planning to flower outdoors it isnt as big a deal, but if you are going to flower indoors the problem can become a nightmare. also, shower and change clothes including shoes when going from outside garden to inside garden

Clear cups are problematic for root growth , always try to maintain a dark root zone.

Also here is the light I am using over them for now. I expect once they get bigger I will invest in a stronger light source, possibly led. I'd like to get some nice dense buds.

You'll find a lot of people here that will tell you it's better to make your own cob. There's a lot of good info and people here to learn that from. If you can make your own, that would be your best option.

I'll say it, and prolly catch flak from some energy conservationists, but look into HID lighting. Unless you want to drop some serious coin building a GrowMaus set up, forget LEDs! The density you're looking for will not be there, and I find a lot of LED growers to be discouraged after their first grow. Cheap Chinese products do not compare to some of these Cree cob lights I see, but with that performance comes high cost. Not worth it IMO. I do use cheap Chinese burple LeDs for sprouts and early veg, but once it's time to aggressively veg, the HIDs come out.

I get nice dense buds, from burple leds just saying:mrgreen::peace:. I cant afford a cob Real shit,but i love to grow so i work with what i got and make the best of it. 2 mars 300 or 2 vipar 300 are better then nothing.Imo:lol::joint:
