Just switched to 12/12, flower. QUESTION?

So I just switched my plants to 12/12 flowering instead of the vegging 18/6. Anyways my question is: Since the dark period shouldnt be interupted, what if I leave my lights on for like 15 more minutes on some days? (to spray the under sides of leaves lightly, or spray soil, or anything for instance)


I was just sitting here.... and this question came to me. I see nothing in Jorge Cervantes grow bible and can't fine anything on the internet. THANKS.

If you need to spray or such, get a green light,plants don't use that colour spectrum.

i always mess with it, lol. i cant help it, the plants are the most exciting thing in my life. I never interupt a dark cycle, but i change it start every time. I jsut put the timer on tho for a 9 to 9 cycle so i shud be ok. Does not seem to mind, it's pollinated and big seeds are about to pop i think. This i my first grow!

i dont think a few extra minutes does harm...look out in nature the sun isnt on a 12/12 scheldule and bud still grows fine

I was in a grow room a few months ago and saw there was a light on in there during dark hours.. It was a red light.. I've been wondering what type of redlight this is....

Is this the same thing you are speaking of? It looked red to me for sure.

a red light would mess up the photoperiod, unlesl it was under 5 lumens or something like that. YOu are supposed to use a green light if you are going to have light on them during the dark period because they reflect green light(thats what make the plants green). You can get a green bulb at nurseries I think...I dont want to risk it so Ive never tried em though

ya the sun isnt exactly 12/12 so it should be okay to have it on for an extra 15 or so i would think. Not that i plan on interupting the dark period its that i was just curious and hadn't read anything about it.

my room is in a spare bedroom , were all the dragons make up is and stuff. I have a green light bulb in there and they are fine. to be honest they are great. about 8ft (3 plants) and I reckon ill be getting 5-8oz from all 3
