Hey Guys, my 3 seedlings are looking green and healthy from what I can see (This is my first time growing so my opinion means nill aha ) So I'm gonna run through my setup and what I've done so far really quickly !
My setup is a 60x80x80cm grow tent, 1 large intake fan at the bottom, with 1 small disposal fan up on top attached to a carbon filter. My lights are 2 MarsHydro 300W LED's (true watts equal just under 300 from what I've researched) and these lights hang about 60-70cm above the bottom of the tent. The running heat on both of these leds is about 35celsius. Now this is very high I know, but I am in Australia and it's not easy to keep it cool, but I belive its cooler since the intake fan is blowing cooler air, so I would assume its roughly 28-30c at true temp.
Now what have I done to kill these plants ? heres my story --- (crime show Dah Dah)
I soaked 4 seeds in distilled water for 24hr, then moved them into a wet paper towel for 2 days. After checking on day 1 they were slightly showing the root, on day 2 the root was about 2-3cm on 2 of the seeds, 1 was about 1cm long and 1 hadn't cracked at all.
I then put them root down into seed raising mix (which I completely forgot to soak beforehand so it was dry) I then gave them a good water and put them into the tent to get to buisiness. A couple of days passed and 2 plants had sprouted a good couple cm and were on there first set of TRUE leaves, 1 was stuck inside its shell but was getting there.
Now on about day 3-5 there was negligible growth, and I wasnt sure why and too my research I may have over watered them and the symptoms were fitting the description so I stopped watering them and put them closer to the LED light (roughly 30cm away). About 12 hours later they were all drooped over like this, I gave them a few small waterings as not to overdrench them, and made sure the soil is moist with it lightly drying out before another water.
These plants are not coming back after 2 days like this, they seem to be shriveling up even more as time passes. With all the mighty knowledge this forum contains, can someone please help me fix or avoid this tragedy !!!
Thankyou in advance
