autos vs photos....specifically light regimens

i have grown a few autos, but mostly photo plants.i know the dark period for photos is very important, lots of things happen during the dark period,During the day plants convert sunlight into sugar. During the dark hours the plant uses the sugar to grow.

im just curious if autos would be better at 20/4 rather than 24/0

any thoughts?

There are many tests out here when I checked this. The best results tend to be at 20/4 for autos.

I did mine at 18/6 and 5 autos grew a pound of northern lights.

I have moved on to photoperiod plants but still believe they do better with a dark period in veg. Seem too stressed with 24hr growth to me.

But c-3 plants like cannabis need no dark period. As long as there is light they will be photosynthesis. So many growers just veg 24hrs.

And one grower I have seen here gets fantastic results growing autos 24hrs. So it all can work.

There are opinions on both sides. Personally I use 20/4. Even though it's not scientifically necessary, I believe all life needs rest.
I find when I vegged for 24 hrs I had more plant stress through their life. I did get more growth in a shorter time period so I guess it matters what are your priorities.

Mine is quality meds and I veg 18/6. It saves on water , nutes and light and I seem to get healthier plants that way at the expense of maybe a weeks growth in veg.

But our plant will grow with no issues if properly done at 24hrs. And I am sure most of the weed I smoked in my lifetime was grown that way.
