What about those male flowers? Are you being able to control them? such a bummer that they appeared out of nowhere.
I havent seen any come out of the main canopy. They were all on the underside. And i use the word all apprehensively. There were literally only maybe 6 or 7. Very early on too. Under developed and NOT open. But i just took all that stuff off from her completely. So she has a nice even canopy with maybe about 6-8 inches of vegetation below the tops. Ive actually contemplated trimming that up as well and just having tops. But i would like to see how this light penetrates into the canopy, being my very first diy cob setup and all. So i need some to measure where the larf starts (if any) and its going to be nice to compare a strain i did before under the cfl setup. Hitting 4 ozs under those, then UPGRADING to these, its going to be a bountiful harvest indeed (less anything unfortunate happens to her before then of course)What about those male flowers? i had the same shit happen to me. all of my exotic genetix future plants hermied but it stayed almost entirely contained to the lower branching. there was a couple random ones up top but nothing too crazy. hopefully yours are like mine and arent too fertile. i definitely have seeds but not as many as there could have been!I havent seen any come out of the main canopy. I've been running a ghetto DIY setup like this for four month now, no problems.Makes total sense. I prefer the higher wattage per cob and less cobs. I imagine it would lead to higher yield because of increased amount of light per given space (ppfd). I will upgrade to your setup as soon as I have the money to. For now, I might invest in the heatsinks, but put the cheapo ebay 100w cobs, $2.99 per fixture plus the $10 power supplies. They might be worth the try. The worst that can happen is I lose 50 dollars when the cobs fail after 3 days.. Obviously the efficiency is not the same as the citizens, but 100watts at 110 lms/watt isn't a terrible deal, or so it seems....
