Constructive input please

Eating itself means exactly that. The plant will pull what's left from the leaves, if theres none n the soil.
She definitely needs some more food. It appears you've erred in the side of caution and missed some swell. Feed her and you'll get some more weight.
I have concluded from your post that the early stages of not leaching may resemble the following. If plant no eat self plant eat you.

Different opinion from me... sounds like you leached/flushed for three weeks so that's good. Time to chop (harvest)! Based on those milky trichromes and orange hairs; unless you want amber trichromes. This is a very good result for a first time grow. Good job
What?

That thing is nowhere near done. Flushing is also the worst thing to do.

Green to the end. This is a done bud.

Hello. This is my first grow, my first attempt, and now my first love. I over fed a tad, still have a lot of green. Still absorbing all info thrown at me, and for future trials I will know what to look for. Such a lovely learning experience. I do not have access to a eye glass at this time. I ordered one and it will be here 4-13 4-16. These plants started flowering January 3rd. Since it is my first grow I am not really familiar with time scales. For past 3 weeks I have fed nothing but water every 3 days or so, and 12-12 light cycle. I do not know if my pictures can tell a tale or not. If so any constructive input is welcome. Next steps and so on. Anything I can buy home remedies to add an extra kick? Did I do alright are my buds on par with normal random bag seed grows? Any idea just by looks how long? Is this a sativa or indica? Do I see a hint of purple or am I just wishing I did. Thanks again heres pictures take within 30 mins.

First it needs more water. The roots have filled the pot. Not much room for water and they will take in a lot of water when plumping up.

Next feed til the end or at least the last week. You can't flush nutrients from a plant. You can only remove salts from the soil.

Look for a balanced feed. Close to even numbers for NPK.
No need for bloom boosters, special additives, or unicorn farts. Its a plant. Keep it happy and the rest will follow.

Keep it super simple. Kiss.

Less is more.

Develope a good watering technique. Lift the pot. If it feels light water it. If its heavy don't.

When using synthetics either feed full strength and water, feed, water, feed, etc.

Or mix at 1/4 to 1/2 strength and feed every time.

Either way water once lightly and then water again until good run off a few minutes later.

The run off prevents salt build up.

Not bad for a first grow. They are sativa dominant and have a ways to go yet.

Oh it's broughten

Break it up you guys.
We all know I'm the one who's right.:fire:

If you don't leach No one cares. But your smoke sucks and you can't tell.bongsmilie

Tell me that about 10 days after hairs turn orange the trichromes don't turn milky. Do it :bigjoint:

:joint:we can agree:
Amber trichromes give a different effect than milky trichromes; I do wonder if the difference can be seen analytically..

What ever dude.

You are silly to think you can flush nutes from a plant.

First its called leaching and its done to remove salt buildup from the soil.

Now lets move on to the nutrients. Mobile and immobile. Well we know immobile nutrients don't move in the plant so can't be flushed.

Then you have mobile nutrients like nitrogen. That means they can move in the plant. That's why they yellow from the bottom up when they need nitrogen.

Think about that. You flush and starve the plant. It then moves nitrogen from the lower leaves (that you don't smoke) to the new growth. The buds, you do smoke them.

Its basic botany and science.

You can't flush nutrients from a plant.

I never flush even when growing synthetic. My bud is not sub par.

Its all in the dry and cure.

Now if you want to stand by your statement then please do as the same as I did and articulate how flushing actually removes nutrients from the plant.

Don't say its the chlorophyll because the leaves turn yellow but the buds are still green and have chlorophyll.

Im confused.... I dont flush.... sub par meaning if you starve them to death they wont be what they could have been

You know what? Your right! Its just a weed that everyone trys to overcomplicate and at the end of it all when you strip away all the bullshit I just really like being baked and dont really care too much. Lol. Thanks for reminding me. Happy growing bruddah..

I had already gave guidance up there. White hairs must b a local market thing.

"Calyx hairs are just an indicator that the plant is ripening, not necessarily ripe yet. I have taken full Indica strains with 60% hairs turned, and sativas when 90% hairs have turned, and they were all at peak ripeness. The trichome color is the only true indicator!"
I'll take that!
Usually Im really not a dick I guess mentally I got on a high horse lol with my opinions. Ive got 2 or 3 freaky little bitches that get harvested when every hair is white well almost every hair wich is for sure not the norm, I dont know why but they smoke good. Sorry my guy. Happy growing

People rely on tricomes too much. Its just one part of the picture.

Some strains, mainly sativas, will show early amber.

I take the whole plant into account. Meaning I look at the tricomes, pistils, and calyx.

I wait for the pistils to turn color along with tricomes and wait for the pistils to recced into the calyx.

At the end though, to each their own and do what makes you happy.

Totally agree and that really is the best advice at the end of the day. Look at the WHOLE THING not 1 part. " If you only look one direction you miss your best friend fuckin your wife behind your back" from grandpa rest his sole.

IDK about green to the end, i like my plants to show their full color profile and fade a bit, brings out those beautiful fall colors.
