just want to hear how it went i might rent a shop and work on things in it and was going to put up a partition and set it up as a grow room in the very back of the shop. shop is 25'x50'.

i've grown before so all the basics will be taken care of... noise and smell obv being the most important.

Chances of getting caught. HIGH.
Cost of renting the shop. HIGH.

Waste of time? YES.

Just thought i'd get down to the simple side of it.
Sorry if this wasnt what you wanted to hear.

thank you fdd and natrone.

$475+elec/heat a month for 1250sq feet. not a bad deal imho.

and i am not going to start growing right away. gunna rent it and see how the guy that owns the building is. but i already talked to the previous renter and he said that none of the people are ever around and the guy that owns the place won't even come to fix a light bulb. normally a shitty thing but i loved the sound of it.

i'll be putting up a journal sometime this week if i end up getting the shop. it will be a stadium grow when i begin it.

peace

i'm looking for a partner. i have the money to invest but i don't have the "credit" to get a space. unless i can find someone who will take cash and a deposit. i'd rather do it alone. :bigjoint::blsmoke:

you sound like a jackass with a shop he will have a bigger space to grow bigger plants in and can use bigger erthing then in a home grow with out it looking out of wack. shop use 2-3x more light then a house so he wont have to worrie bout the light company. and with all that space he can do just about any op he wants. i'd love it if i have the money to grow in a shop instead of my home.

sorry if that wasn't what you wanted to hear

you people are trippin' again. there are "shops" all over my neighborhood that are used for growing. i love how everyone immediately jumps on the "nope, can't do it" wagon. do you even know where he lives? come on people https://www.rollitup.org/toke-n-talk/105283-how-we-roll.html

Good for you FDD2blk

People are so close minded its ridiculous.
I know someone who is in the process of having a shop 75 feet in length where he keeps his ocean boat and all of his contracting supplies.

Soon it will be partitioned off and he will have his own office, along with a huge ass grow room.

People dunno shit. :blsmoke:

I would assume that the dude also owns said 75' shop, so that in the event shit goes south he'll be the one who loses out, not some unwilling/unknowing/unwitting property owner.

Well the way I see a shop is a shop with a big glass front..
You know, an actual shop?
Like a shop on a high street?

By the way you lot are describing it, it sounds like you're talking about a storage space..
With the metal shutters on the front?

But perhaps that's just me being logical in my approach to this thread..

I said it wouldn't work in a shop, what I was referring to is what I stated above.

So no hate guys. ;)

Good luck with your grow.

Hey folks,

There are several advantages to renting a commercially zoned building, as well as a few disadvantages...

Advantages:

Perhaps the largest advantage comes from the simple fact that the building is zoned for commercial use -- it is expected to consume a large amount of power and is generally equipped with a slough of electrical outlets, water hookups, drainage area, etc, etc. Now, factor in as many 1,000w bulbs as you so care to fit in your large workspace area and you are set for some lush vegetation.

Then, in the front of the store you're going to have some sort of cover business. Make sure it's a cash-based business with loose record keeping and you have a legitimate way of declaring your income. You will have to pay a little bit of taxes, but this will keep uncle Sam off your nuts.

Also, set aside a day or two every month to host some sort of charity event that is related to your business, and you will take on the image of a proactive, stand-up community member. All the less suspicious.

Disadvantages:

You are renting this store; you are not the owner. This warrants the owner the right to have access to all areas of the shop if he so needs. Though the chances of a busy commercial landlord paying you an inspection visit are slim, the chances of routine city inspections (ie fire safety inspection) are great. Make sure you discuss this with your landlord, as well as the appropriate city officials to determine when these will take place. This will require some preparation a day or two in advance and a bit of work.. :(

i have the money to invest but i don't have the "credit" to get a space.
fdd... You need to realize something: the world revolves around money. Credit doesn't have shit on cold, hard cash. If you have an ample amount of money in an account, you should have no problem procuring a lease for a place.
